I weigh 353. That's hard to type. I lost weight the first time because I could not walk a flight of stairs in my late 20s and that's just not right. This time it's because my knees are hurting and I have to go to physical therapy because of the pain. I am only 32 and I feel I'm to young for that. I know weight is factor.…

Way to go!! Keep up the great work!

I so get the feeling. When I feel like I cant keep going. I go into a sort of maintenance and just focus on tracking until I get over myself. Some people might not like that idea and it might not work for them. But for me I don't feel so restricted but I don't completely fall off which takes me longer to get back on. Good…

I have a open diary to friends. I just turned 30 but I feel old if that helps. Feel free to add if you want. Good luck

Your post is so true, at least for me. It took deciding to get heathly for me to realize that I hated where I was. You are already ahead of the curve in my eyes. You know what you dont like about where you are. You can turn each one of those I hate statements into action plans. Then there are other I hate statements are…

I want to lose about 100 lbs. I am down about 55lb. It has taken me a long time about 18 months to get down this far. I like the slower process because then it is less of a change to my routine it is something I can actually keep with. As time goes on I am getting bolder in the changes I am willing to make. Good luck!!…

Hi Jen, I started bigger then you and I am currently where you are now. I have found for me starting slow really helped esp with food. I thought I could never eat less and still be full. 8 months into it and I am now under 2000 calories per day and still feel full. It is going to be hard work but I PROMISE so worth the…

I find that giving myself a range before I start to be negative is helpfull. So if my daily goal is 1900 I can go to 2100 before I get really upset with myself. I also find ways to punish myself for going over. So I dont get online tonight after work, or only drink water tomorrow things like that. But that is just me.

Love it. I am not really on the fast track either and sometimes it hits me that I have been at this so long. Your story reminds me that it is not a race. It is a personal experience and it is all about personal growth. Way to Go!!

I also tend to go with the one's with the higher calorie count. I feel it is better to over estimate calories then under.

This is cool. Saves me time from doing it long hand. Thanks.

I stopped this weekend. I wrote down everything I ate and when I got to back to work I put it in. I found that I ate less then usual. I was listening to my body and not how many calories I have left. This was only my first time trying but I think I will try again this weekend.

I am so happy for you!! I remember when I was able to walk a mile in one workout. I took pictures with my cellphone, called my mom after, then told my husband when I got home, told the girls at work. I was over the moon. My next goal is to add more running in to the walking. Wish you the best of luck!!

Great question. I have not lost a lot of weight. I have actually gained some back. However I am losing inches, which is better. However looking at the other MFP, I tend to feel like I am not working hard enough, ect. The comments here make me feel better that I can go slow and still be doing hard work. Thanks everyone

I find telling people helpful, keeps me honest. However, I completly understand not wanting to tell anyone. That is where MFP can come in. We can be your motivation, your cheering squad or your kick if you need one. I am so happy to hear that this is something you are doing for you. Feel free to add me if you want. Good…

As someone who in about the same boat as him. I had to learn the hard way the best thing to do is listen to his body. I thought I could do a squat challenge. I was wrong. I did 100 squats in one day. I pulled both my quads, took about 6 weeks to recover. So start slow and listen to his body and it will get better.

bump. So I can keep the list of these sites.
