I enjoy both running and cycling. I have been doing a lot more cycling then running lately due to an injury but I have noticed that the calorie burn in the same amount of time (as in minutes) while biking is a definitely higher. I am averaging 14-16 mph & am riding 10-15 miles per ride.

I started C25K at 266 lbs. I have run many races including 4 half marathons. Go at your own pace and listen to your body. Take necessary rest days. You can do it! I am still on my journey to get under 200.

First one for 2014 was Jan 26th - Celebration Half, next one coming up DC Rock n Roll Half Mar 15th What's your goal time? It WAS to finish 2:15 but now it is just to cross the finish line, not setting any PR's with this semi injured knee Is this your first? This will be my 4th one. How much training are you doing a week?…

^^ I used Hal's plan too & had to modify it a bit but overall it is good! I started running last February & had only run a few 5k's before deciding to sign up for a half. I took Hal's plan and modified it into a 17 week plan, by increasing my long runs each week by only a 1/2 mile. The longest training distance I ran a…

I used to run in high school many many many years ago *cough cough* I started seriously running in February of this year, after finishing C25K, I have run several 5k's, a Warrior Dash, a10K and a half marathon. Never ever thought I would be able to run the entire half marathon without walking, but anything is possible.…

Love running !! Ran my first half last month & have run every distance except a full marathon. I plan on running a couple more half's next year & maybe *gulp* signing up for a full.

You can do it just take it slow and easy. If you feel pain then stop & rest. Do NOT run through the pain. I'm 5'6 and started the couch to 5K program in February weighing 256 lbs. I was very slow in the beginning but was able to complete the program & I have run every distance race including a half marathon. Go for it !!

this ^^ I am freezing at the start but after a mile I am usually good to go. I usually wear a short sleeve running shirt, capri compression pants & arm sleeves. If I get too hot then I can just pull off the arm sleeves. Makes much easier then having to tie my jacket around my waist.

The longest training run I did a week before my half was a 10 miler & had no problems. If you body is conditioned and you have been training weekly up to this point, you should be fine. If you feel like doing a 10 or 11 miler this weekend then go for it. If it were me, I would do my long run on Saturday & an easy run on…

I had no problems during the race & never felt any soreness until after I crossed the finish line and stopped running. That was when I felt throbbing. After I took off my shoes was when I saw how my big toe was swelled up & the nail was a black/blue. I had this happen during one of my long runs but it was on the middle…

I was able to do 2 miles before calling it quits. I have been battling a black/blue swelled up big toe !! UGH sooooo annoying because I have been "itching" to run !
