You might be doing something for a week to help with personal food relationship issues but that has nothing to do with the day of atonement fast during Yom Kippur. Don't confuse or mix the two concepts. They are entirely unrelated.

Either I am oblivious or I have truly never seen anyone do this. Maybe I just don't pay attention to what someone else is eating. If I'm hungry (always), I eat. I order what I want, scarf it all down to the last drop (or take it home), eat more than most men I know, and pretty proud of it... I know someone morbidly obese…

You have a lot of great advice on this thread. Great question you asked as you learn new habits in this new part of your life. I love fast food and try to stay away most of the time because I don't like eating so many cals only to still be so hungry. It's the one food I can't estimate by feel of how full I am. But if I…

It's a great informational gathering tool. Once you get an idea of the cals you will probably know by eyeballing or feel of satiety levels. You probably won't do it for a lifetime but just as a means to get from point a to b and then maybe afterwards to touch base here and there and see where you are at. I love it because…

So while you're a beautiful person full of goals and follow thru, who will a year or so from now, have achieved your goal, he will wake up on that same day, and on a good day for him, STILL be an *kitten*. Always and forever.

There is a distinct correlation for me with lack of sleep and hunger - I can see it by my logging of both. I've read it also has to do with ghrelin hormone increases ( signals hunger) when there is not enough sleep. Leptin decreases with lack of sleep- ( hormone that signals hunger satisfaction). None of this means that…

I was ( sometimes still ) a cereal snacker at night. I have a trick that cured me for 95% of the days - brushing my teeth after dinner and saying kitchen closed. After a couple of days that were hard, I solved a lifetime of night time snacking. I have no desire to eat once my teeth are brushed and I don't want to do it…

Happy to cheer you on-- this is a great place to start a new chapter in your fitness life.

This is absolutely true; the average person has forgotten what healthy looks like. I grew up when the lowest size was a 3 in juniors (now a zero). In certain brands, it can be a good two sizes different now.
