  • Yes :-) 1600m in 45 mins - definitely getting a little faster after 2 weeks of swimming sessions.
  • interesting - I think I'll stick with the MFP estimates, which do seem a bit more conservative than the calculators but as I eat them all back should be in my favour in the long run. I'm glad they don't appear to be over estimating. Wow I wish I was swimming 6km in an hour!!
  • Thanks, helpful!
  • Yes  1km 35 mins
  • Thanks all - and thanks for the link, that's very helpful. I'm only small (5'2") and at 1200 calories per day - if I didnt eat back my excercise calories I think I'd really struggle!
  • re-started again recently - happy for new friends!
  • OMG - just saw that I started this back in Jan. And I think I lasted less than a week... Back again for another re-start! Perhaps New Year is too much of a pressured time for resolutions when I was starting a new job too - let's try a new month instead and see how much progress I can make in this second half of the…
  • So the logging resolution is going ok, the going to bed by 10.30 resolution not so much...
  • Yep I was about 12lbs up in 2014... I did so well 2013 but got a bit complacent. Maybe I need a goal, but 26 mile walk doesn't appeal...
  • I swam today, first time for months. I didn't track how far, but 45 mins - and I had the lane to myself woohoo New Year, new start....
  • I'm restarting too...... just one more festive family meal tomorrow to go.... I was gifted a fitbit for Christmas, looks like a good way to challenge myself to do more each day
  • Last time I tried Shed I had to stop after a week coz I really hurt my knee.... it wasn't right for a long time after... I am wondering about trying again but without the cardio, would that be odd....?
  • Sorry I've moved since I posted this quite a while back........ My closest Edin Leisure are now Drumbrae or the Tennis Centre, been struggling to get going again since the move but had a lovely swim today so must keep it up.
  • I've lost 31lbs, which is around 17% of my starting weight... still have a bit to go but really pleased with so far. In some respects it has been difficult being much more concious of what I am eating, remembering to log and making sure I make the right choices so I don't go over... BUT it really does work so that gives me…
  • Hi Kat, Welcome to the group. What is P90? Good for you with the munros - it has hardly been the weather this year!! chocsaway
  • 30DS is really hard on my knee... last time I managed 5 days before I had to stop :( I do want to try again, but not too sure....
  • I have these salter scales, work fine for me. On offer at argos - I think they were on offer at the time which is why I picked them.…
  • I have been really careful and had a few extras, but not been to any big parties with food on offer. Took my own snacks to the beacon event, still gone slightly over today. I did plan to fit in some extra gym/swim while off work but that didn't happen!
  • Funny you should say that- I was just in Morrisons for the first time in ages yesterday and had a look. Lots of nice things, red kale I can recommend - I grow this myself but have never seen it for sale. Lots of nice looking radishes as well.
  • I made these.. very tasty & satisfying http://www.savvyvegetarian.com/vegetarian-recipes/quinoa-burgers.php

  • Thanks everyone, I will pop into boots and give it a try. I wore my hat for the first time for ages last night and my hair was only about 30% wet, despite swimming some under water so not too bad. Don't really like the look, but guess what - everyone moves out of your way ;) Hair did feel a bit better afterwards so might…
  • Thanks I will have a look - I wonder if they actually work anyway. Perhaps a swimming hat is the answer but can't say I like the look! I can't swim properly without putting my head forward into the pool or it strains my neck / back. Thankfully even though it is a council pool, they have lovely free hair dryers so I don't…
  • Hello - I love the slow cooker, so nice when you get in from work and it is waiting for you. This weekend I made this soup : http://crockpot365.blogspot.com/2008/10/crockpot-butternut-squash-soup-recipe.html The picture isn't too good, but it made 6 portions at around 200cals a portion (according to MFP recipe function).…
  • I'm in Edinburgh - just joined MFP in the last week :) There is a Scotish Group on here- "Tartan Trimmers!"
