  • I'm 50 and have been menopausal for the last two years, early menopause runs in my family and both my mum and aunt gained a lot of weight when they started their menopause at the age of 42. I am currently on HRT therapy, practicing portion control, have cut out all junk and alcohol and am working out daily but the weight…
  • I get horribly bloated during my period and can gain up to a kilo just from the bloating do I don't weigh myself for the first three days of my cycle as the weight gain is only temporary, so why torture myself? As some other posters pointed out it's part of life so don't stress too much over it.
  • I wasn't so addicted to sugar, if I had more self control, if I could switch the 'critic' inside my head off. if, if, if, if, if.....................
  • Big fat FAIL here! I gained throughout March. Why can't I control my eating? why am I so addicted to sugar???? :grumble:
  • I have a large frame; big hands, broad shoulders, wide hips. Even when I lost ton of weight a few years back with weight watchers I never lost my 'big' shape. I don't wear bikinis as I don't feel comfortable in them and as I have have very fair skin I burn to a crisp when wearing one anyway so I stick to one piece suits.…
  • I have just bought some of the Braggs ACV but haven't started drinking it yet, I also have skin tags which I am keen to get rid of. I'm going to start using it tomorrow, if my tags drop off I'll let you know!
  • I haven't used that program but I love weight lifting and the results it can give you. I do 14 kilos (30lbs) walking squats and 10 kilos (22lbs) on the squat track in my weekly pump class so I say drop the Barbie weights and go for it! You'll be amazed at how much you can actually lift
  • Today I really pushed myself in spin class and proved to myself that I can do a whole track without stopping and I'm grateful for my job and boss who is flexible and doesn't mind me going to the gym for over an hour :)
  • This is why I pay more to go to a women's only gym, I get nothing but support and encouragement there and no brain dead neanderthals!

  • This. it's the same old story for me lose 1 gain one, back and forward like a bloody tennis ball. I am soooo sick of it
  • I'm 47 and peri-menopausal and so far it sucks too! Mentally I still feel young but my body looks middle aged which is why I joined MFP. I'm finding it tough though. Slow metabolism means slow weight loss despite my best efforts. It took my aunt 12 months to lose 10 kilos, looks like it's going to take ages for me to lose…
  • People who hog the elliptical trainers and don't wipe the equipment down after they've used it, ick!
  • Good point, if it works for some people, great. Sometimes you just have to go with whatever restores your health.
  • This. I was getting that flat butt look too and wanted to change it so I've started doing squats with heavy weights and after just two weeks I've already noticed a difference. Those things work! P.S is that the Stanley cup you're standing next to? I'm jealous!
  • I need to get a heart rate monitor, I'm not sure I trust those machines at the gym. I've been on the elliptical and it told me my rate was 170+ is that even possible? I usually do body pump and spin but I have no idea what my HR gets up to in those classes, I push myself hard though.
  • I must have missed something, looks like some posts have been deleted. Hmmmm...

  • You can get an Eldon card test and do it at home, it's really easy. I bought mine on eBay.
  • Hi there, I gave the blood type diet a try last year. I'm type A+ so according to the guidelines I should have been eating mainly vegetarian with very little red meat.I stuck to it religiously and was hungry all the time and as I don't like fish, tofu or tempeh my protein choices were limited to say the least. I gained…
  • Melbournite here!
  • I'm going carb free next to see if that makes a difference!
  • I'll have do the kilos to pounds conversion later, my computer just will not cooperate lately, running very slow despite all my clean ups and the internet here is very slow today.

  • I can't wait to lose some off mine! I'm a 38DD and they really get in the way but I also don't want to be left with really saggy girls either. I'm working my upper body out like crazy, LOL!
  • GAH!!! I just cannot get my pics to work and I've read all the tutorials, what the hell am I doing wrong?????
  • Found this today:
  • If I'm craving something sweet I stick with either fruit (plums, pears or apples) of I have a good a quality probiotic yoghurt, full fat. I never touch that low fat stuff as it's loaded with sugar and just triggers your sugar cravings.
  • This morning I tried on some pants that had been really tight on me and they're fitting comfortably now
  • I could lose my horrible appendix scar and tummy pouch caused by it
