You are amazing!

Also depends on whether or not you have kidney disease - if so, you should probably consult your primary doctor or nephrologist. Too much protein can cause those of us with kidney disease to have increased problems.

I lived in Australia for 3 years right out of college a LONG time ago and even though I had drunk tea for a lot of years, the way it was made and tasted there was the best! Nothing more comforting on a rainy day than a good "cuppa" with milk and bread and strawberry jam! I still often drink my tea that way.

This sounds absolutely wonderful - can hardly wait to try it.

You can mix them in salads, mix them with quinoa, mix them with rice/southwestern style foods. You can make dips, vegetarian chili. They're wonderful!!

Awesome job!

All these comments are so interesting - the sad thing about being able to cook is that it is much more fun to make the food that is less than healthy for you. I am single, love to cook, and it is not too gratifying to cook anything for yourself, be it healthy or unhealthy.

Congratulations - you look amazing and like everyone else says, great legs!

Glad to see you here - I even saw a consumer report on MFP this a.m. on TV - talking about the ap for the Smart Phone and what a great web site it is.

Awesome - good for you. We are never too old to hear comments like that !

My nephrologist tells me to avoid coffee as it is dehydrating - I drink a lot of H2O but put those individual packets in at least 1 20-oz bottle per day. Others have mentioned this too - also flavored H20 at Target, etc. Fruit juice is also a good idea but calories can be a problem there.

I don't have a child but my gym is 40 miles from my home in the city where I work. For insurance purposes I must go 12 times per month and I car pool with someone who is not able to do the gym yet. Thus, at least 1 day per week to get a good, long work-out, I leave my home city at 4:30-4:45 in the a.m., hauling all my…

I don't have a food processor - only a regular blender and an emersion blender. I think this could be done in the regular blender - anyone have any other ideas? Thanks

That is horrendous. I have a dear friend who almost died due to a mishap in surgical procedure attempting to have a Lap-Band done this past summer. It never was accomplished and she was in the hospital most of the summer. Pretty scary stuff.

You are so very right - I am almost 60 - have gained/lost several people in this life time plus having multiple belly surgeries, etc. One needs to eat right, exercise and keep portion control in mind. That word "diet" is a 4-letter word that has become so misused as you said. I find it horrible to think if one is being so…

You look great and blonde is hot!

What a delightful sounding snack! These items are going on my grocery list!!

You rock!!

Welcome aboard. I like the fact it helps me journal my food as well. Reading all the posts is inspirational as well. I have gained and lost a lot of weight in my life and the hardest thing for me is patience which folks here have all written about so keep that in mind!!

I think you should post anyway! It is a huge accomplishment!!!

I agree with the concept that just because it is your IBW does not make it the ideal weight for you. (This is just my opinion however.) I have gained/lost several people in my lifetime and all of this has been complicated by multiple belly surgeries and muscles are in sad shape after these with one of them being a…

You are utterly amazing! I give you a huge amount of credit for being so open and your pic is beautiful. Keep up the good work!!!

I am not an expert but I recently saw a dietician and had a metabolism test and she determined the calories I was following at 1270 plus any extra gotten with cardio was not enough. She stated I s/b having at least 1400 per day. So, it seems possible you are on too few.

Super job!b:smile: I just want to get down below 170 pounds and stay there. A few years ago I was at my goal for size/weight and put 28 pounds back on, so now the new goal is below 170. What a struggle! I had a metabolism test and the dietitian told me I should be eating more calories than MFP had given me. My metabolism…

To the member from Russia - that is amazing. I had plans to come home from Australia across the Trans-Siberian railway but situations would not allow it.

To the person from Australia - I lived down under in your fabulous country for 3 years after graduating from college - first year in Balmoral, Victoria and then moved to Bendigo, Victoria for the last 2 years. I sadly think one of the worst mistakes I ever made was coming home to stay. I have regretted that decision a…

North Dakota. We like to call ourselves the bread basket of the world here.

You are utterly amazing - I am sitting with 30 I want to lose and am struggling hugely. My age is against me at 59 as is being post-menopausal (hysterctomy at age 40). Good for you!
-
You are hugely lucky - I was most successful with weight loss while on a tightly restricted carb diet but due to having kidney problems, can't do that again. Bread, pasta, and rice are my weaknesses and it is so hard to "portion control" - congrats on your success. I limit myself to a light bread and try to not have pasta…

I agree with all the posts stating walking - also if you live where this is a Curves club - I got my start to exercise with that and it was great. It is a good atmosphere with circuit training and you don't have to plan a routine. Walking is super however.
