is it bad to go over the daily limit on protien? I almost always go in the red on protien, but I'm not sure whether its really a negative thing or not?

As long as it's not a huge amount. I personally think the limit they have on here is much lower than it should be. Women in general, in childbearing years, should be taking in about 80g/day, more if they are trying to conceive, are pregnant, nursing, or have just had a baby in the past two years (even if not nursing, as the body is depleted and needs to rebuild its stores). If it is truly too much for your body to handle, you'll notice things like constipation, backache (from kidney difficulties), headaches, nausea, and possibly gall stones.
  • Also depends on whether or not you have kidney disease - if so, you should probably consult your primary doctor or nephrologist. Too much protein can cause those of us with kidney disease to have increased problems.
