I used to take pills that sped up your metabolism and it worked. I had more energy which was great! But take one within 5 hours of going to bed or don't do any exercise on the full dosage and you'll be up all night... far too much caffeine! AND when you stop taking them... it's like starting all over again :( My metabolism…

Bump :)

I never thought about looking at Atkins. Thanks :)
-
Wow! The difference is amazing! And definitely motivating to stay low carb. I''m not thinking of extreme measures though. Just reigning in my intake and making the necessary restrictions :) Well done again on your transformation!

I think it's working. Dropped my carbs to 50-100 a day and dropped 1lb the first couple of days. My first official weigh in since is Sunday so I'll know for definite then! I didn't actually realise how many carbs a day I was eating until I looked back at my diary.... 150g+ a day!

I was seriously addicted to crisps. As in, if they were in the house and I knew about them, they were all I could think about until I'd eaten them or made someone else eat them! So... I gave them up for lent! It's been two weeks of no crisps and I don't even miss them anymore. I'd suggest cutting out the sweet things…

Hey from the UK! Add me :)

so maybe have a 'not so much exercise' exercise day? I think I can do that :)

I know what you mean about feeling hungrier when you don't exercise. I'm no good at rest days for the same reason! Have you been under for the rest of the week? Technically, you can carry calories forward a few days if you need to. If I know I have a special occasion at the weekend then I don't eat back my exercise…

There's a great group on here 'Spike 84' especially for spikers. It tells you how to work out how much you should be eating on your spike day and the other days during the week. Everyone there is following the same sort of plan so can really help and encourage you :) Come join us!

Hey! I'm 19 and definitely up for more Christian friends :) I'll add you now!

I love to see what other 'petite' people are aiming for :) Im 5"2 SW: 160lbs CW: 133lbs GW:119lbs UGW:114lbs I workout 2-3hours, 6 days a week. Mainly cardio but I include 2/3 hours of weight training. I'm back up to eating 1200 after plateauing!
-
I totally agree with you :) I know how great the encouragement feels so of course I give it back x
-
So, I'm 5"2 currently 133lbs. I'm aiming for 114 by May which I think is doable but my weight loss has stopped! I exercise about 60-90 mins cardio 5/6 days a week. And about 2 hours of strength training a week. I've cut my calories down to around 1000cals a day but haven't seen a movement on the scales for 3 weeks! I…

Peanut butter's a great way to boost your calorie intake if you find it hard to get them all. Even though it is quite high in calories it's filling and yummy too!

Whoo! I'm from England too :)

When showing off in my new dress all my mum said was "make sure you don't leave the house without tights. Your legs still need some work" OUCH!
-
Hey :) I'm 19 and definitely up for some mutual motivation! Add me if you'd like x
-
After losing 20lbs I got an "mmm yeah... I guess you've lost SOME weight" And before I started to lose an "it's a good job you're beautiful" One of those back handed comments! Basically you're fat but pretty... at least I still had something going for me at the time! LOL :)
-
Wow! I never knew how the whole water retention thing worked... it all makes sense now :) Thank you! I don;t think I could take a gain on the scales though :s
-
I'm the same! But next question... is 1200 calories supposed to be making me feel full? Or even satisfied? All I seem to be doing is thinking of what I get to eat at my next meal.
-
I read somewhere that they shouldn't be used for longer than 12 weeks. 1200 calories seems to be getting harder to stick to.
-
About 90% of the time yes. Sometimes just because I know the food is there. And sometimes because I just can't seen to feel full/ satisfied throughout the day.
-
Some questions are great for google... this website uses your weight and calculates it for you. http://www.zumbacalories.com/

I think it comes down to how you feel throughout the day. If I'm not hungry but I've still got 200 calories left I just leave them. I always eat them back on my treat day though!
-
Hi Nate. Just one question for you. My current BMR is 1448 so MFP recommends 1200 (I'm only small!) I've lost 27lbs so far, over 3or 4 months so it's coming off slowly but it is coming off! I've made a deadline for May to have lost the other 20lbs. I aim to eat 900- 1200 daily so am sometimes under my goal but it's worked…
-
Bump :) Nate, you're an absolute legend for doing this!
