  • The medications themselves, and not hypoglycaemia, might be causing your symptoms, espcially if you are on max doses. Maybe you need to change your medications or if your sugars aren't controlled on oral meds, you might need insulin. If you aren't already, you need to see a specialist in diabetes.

  • Have you checked to see if your headphones leak sound? When I catch the train, I can often hear other people's music from their headphones. Did you have a towel? Most gyms require you to have a towel. Were you staring at him? Making funny faces? Wearing offensively tight clothing? Maybe he's just like Grumpy…
  • I've switched to raw organic mint chocolate - not terribly sweet but satisfies the chocolate cravings. Also, try Quest bars for a sweet but more nutritional treat. I've also found protein icecream that's low carb/low fat but tastes awesome. None of these leave me with cravings for more like that high-sugar highly-processed…
  • I used to drink lots of soy milk, I now use my homemade almond milk instead - I even take it to work in a bottle and add it to the coffee I buy from a cafe. I've also switched to stevia instead of artificial sweetner. I think you can adjust your taste, but it does take time. Maybe switch the sugar for a less processed…
  • There are also heaps of programs and videos online.....
  • I had a surgical menopause last year - started HRT straight away to help prevent osteoporosis. I've not had any dramatic menopausal symptoms, although I tend to get warm at night, but think I have thickened out around the middle so am currently on an eating plan and weights program to help lose fat.
  • Stop! Step away from the bad food! Don't make the day a disaster. Just make the next thing you eat healthy...and keep going from there.
  • Hi I can only be honest with you because you have asked for help and there's no easy way to put it to you You need to stop eating out You need to eat less, a lot less You need to eat real fresh food You need to start with eating a decent breakfast You need to examine and deal with the reasons why you eat what you eat and…
  • At the moment I go to the gym to do classes- ShBam, BodyJam and Core. I love the dance-based class because a) it doesn't feel like exercise and b) it's a really good mental break as I'm so busy remembering the routine that I don't have time to think about all the stuff going on in my life. I think I would still keep going…
  • I had mine done last year - went from an F to D/DD. Best thing I ever did. No they aren't perfect, but sooo much better than before. My scars are almost invisible (and my skin generally heals well). I lost about 10 kg before surgery and got fit too, to minimise the risks and help with recovery. I had the less extensive…
  • Hi sorry to hear about the drama in your life at the moment. I'm in a similar boat - my FIL has been in hospital for 3 weeks with major major health issues and has 6 months of rehab coming his way. I've been the medical liaison for the family (I'm a doctor) and I'm stressed out but making a huge effort not to use this as…
  • don't stress. in the long run it wont make a difference. maybe work out why you ate the leftovers (e.g. hungry and nothing else to eat, was sitting front and centre in the fridge) and try to have a plan to deal with the situation if it happens again. And life is to short not to enjoy festivities.
  • Takeaway is fine as long as it isn't every day - maybe once a week. You can also make good takeaway choices e.g. grilled fish and salad, or bad choice e.g. fried fish and chips.
  • I'm on 175 a day, 175 of protein and 40 of fat - as advised to after having my metabolism tested.
  • 2 kids (8 and 5) & 2 cats Kids; 1.Throw school bags on the floor in the middle of the room 2.Throw shoes on floor in the middle of the room 3.Raid the pantry 4.Race upstairs to play Star Wars meets Monster High games Cats: 1. They don't come to me, I have to go to them
  • Born big - 9lb plus in the early 70s, both parents overweight. Spent most of my childhood eating way too much, being topped up on chocolates and cake by my Holocaust-surviving grandparents, both overweight too, who lived with us. Never told not to eat something or to stop eating or to eat less. Finally when I was in the…
  • I had the same issue with not being hungry in the morning and so not starting to eat until almost lunchtime and then being ravenous at night. I saw an exercise physiologist who advised that I should eat my calories across the day and make the effort to have breakfast even if not hungry, which I have done for the past 5…
  • Maybe it's your gastrocolic reflex and your body responding to changes in diet ....
  • At least your mom isn't trying to make you eat something she chose.
  • Congrats on your achievement with weight loss and don't beat yourself over a couple of pounds - you're still sorting yourself out . Couple of thoughts. 1. Maybe your weight gain is related to what you are now eating that you had cut out whilst you were in weight loss mode i.e. more salt = water retention 2. Have you worked…
  • I didn't ask this. No sure where you got it from. Doubt. I don't eat them back, not all of them. If I'm under my net calorie goal after exercise, only then do I eat some back
  • Do you know what your body fat % is? Have you had it measured? I think it would be useful to know as a baseline.

  • Thanks all for your advice.
  • I use a HRM to calculate exercise expenditure, yes I may be underestimating food intake but when I'm not sure, I generally overcompensate rather than underestimate. I do have hypothyroidism but am taking meds and my last thyroid function was in normal range. To be honest, I don't eat clean, drink too much coffee and diet…
  • You look amazing. Well done!
  • I think I'm gonna get someone to do me a motivation box. I am so lacking at the moment! It's an awesome idea.
  • What an amazing effort! You look great!
  • Here's a member with PCOS who's lost heaps of weight. It is possible, it might just be a little more work for you. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/880990-180-pounds-down-with-pcos
  • All the exercise I do is dance - ShBam, Zumba, BodyJam. I've been downloading tracks I enjoy from these classes and listening to them while I'm driving. My kids are enjoying them too. I don't have a particular "powersong" though.
