  • I try to be somewhere in between clean and dirty. I need my treats and deprivation just doesn't work with me.
  • More muscle, less fat. Your clothes fit better, you are fitter, you're eating properly - all good. You've probably gained some lean muscle weight as a result of the strength training. Go by how you look in the mirror and how your clothes fit.
  • Hi, How much do you currently weigh? I saw a documentary on TV last night that discussed how the hormone levels of obese people differ from those of normal weight people - and the ultimate effect was that obese people always have some level of hunger and don't feel completely full after eating.
  • Personally, I dont think so. If I drank that much water, I'd be in the bathroom all day. I do drink coffee with soy milk, green tea, diet soft drink (but not caffeinated), plain mineral water/soda and some iced water too.
  • As part of my daily calorie allowance, I make room for treats (sweets or takeout) so I don't feel the need to "cheat". I understand where you're coming from though - so maybe just don't put yourself in that situation if you know it will tempt you.
  • I would say avoid the naan bread and rice - have a meat curry (I love butter chicken).

  • Congrats on your loss so far. I would say you need to eat more. Your body might have gone into starvation mode from not having enough energy intake. Search for the posts on TDEE and how to calculate it. I was on1200 cals but hit a plateau, upped my intake by about 250 cals and the weight is starting to come off again,…
  • What a fabulous effort. You look great so be confident and wear the bikini!
  • Agree with the comments about eating a healthy dinner and start fresh tomorrow. However, I would also look at why you ate too much for lunch - were you really hungry, had you eaten a decent breakfast etc? Was it a planned meal out or a spur of the moment thing? If I know I'm going out for a meal, I try to look at a menu…
  • First questions: how much do you weigh now, how tall are you, how much exercise do you do each week? All these will help determine how much you should be eating (healthy or otherwise).
  • I exercise in the evening so usually treat myself with a sugar-free icecream and maybe some nuts if I need to make up some calories. Why do you want to stop this habit? You are exercising (good), you are eating under your calories (good). It's normal to eat after exercising - your body needs to replenish the fuel it just…
  • Why? Any answer is just an excuse but if I had to make some excuses they would be: 1. That I was tired (I'm a mother of an 8yo and a 4 yo), especially in the time that my youngest one was waking up every night at least once if not more) 2. That juggling work, 2 kids and the rest of life took up all my energy 3. That I just…
  • Hi again I've read that even though your TSH can be in the normal range, it's better to be in the lower end of normal as some people still have symptoms when their level is in the upper end of normal. Maybe ask the thyroid specialist about that. I eat the same calories per day regardless of whether it's an exercise day or…
  • Good on you for going on the journey with her. Teach how to eat healthy, how to make good choices, how to let yourself enjoy food without guilt and how to include exercise in your life. Also teach that it's ok if you slip up now and again and that one bad day doesn't make a difference. I was a fat kid and am now a fat…
  • Honestly, people should just mind their own business when it comes to how much other people weigh or how they look. I think some times there are good but misplaced intentions, other times it's jealousy and other times it's just pure meanness. Ignore them.
  • Based on the calculator at freedieting.com, you should be having 2465 calories to maintain your weight. You exercise every day so that's a lot of calories you have to make up for. Perhaps you can cut down your exercise a little AND eat more. You can also still go out to eat, just make better choices about what you eat.
  • I rarely eat anything before 10.30am. I have a latte and that's it until then. I found that if I DO eat, I'm actually more hungry throughout the day. If it's breakfast foods you are having problems with, just eat something healthy and filling, doesn't matter what or if it's a traditional breakfast food or not.
  • For higher-calorie snacks, try dry roasted nuts, bananas, peanut butter, protein bars. Also, have you had your thyroid levels checked recently?
  • You are the only one who can do that. You need to change your mindset, deal with your eating issues, make yourself a promise to move more. Maybe you haven't had that "lightbulb" moment yet that will really kick your butt into gear to do something. My motivation was seeing the scales creeping up and up and up, and my…
  • I eat above my BMR but below my TDEE - about 30% below.
  • Hi You didn't tell us how much you weighed or your height or age. It's hard to gauge whether you're eating enough without knowing these. It's also hard to judge if the weight loss was needed or not. If you were overweight to start, the weight loss would hopefully help to reduce your risk of diabetes. If you are not…
  • Hi It depends on how overweight you are at the moment and how much weight you need/want to lose. I was doing 1200 cals and exercising like crazy but not losing weight. So I upped my calories to about 1460 (which is appropriate for my height, weight, age and level of activity) and have lost a few pounds since starting to…
  • I'd go a steak, no sauce, and maybe sweet corn and baked beans as sides. The rest is a disaster waiting to happen - too much fat and carbs.
  • I think you need to eat more. Your BMR is around 2200 so you need to eat at least that AFTER exercise calories are deducted. check out the first post on this thread for more info http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/943139-weight-loss-cheat-sheet-ipoarm
  • Maybe you need to find another kind of exercise you enjoy.
  • LOL. And our tap water is meant to be one of the best in the world.
  • You will lose weight eating 1200-1300 cals/day. However, your metabolism will slow down as a result. Try calculating your TDEE (see this thread, first post for more info http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/943139-weight-loss-cheat-sheet-ipoarm) which will recommend eating more than you have been - always above your…
  • Hi I'm not sure how tall you are or how much you weight but I'm 42 and 5ft 5inches and currently weight around 180lbs. My daily calorie goal is 1460 after exercise. I think you might be eating too little. You need to calculate your calorie requirements - check out this thread…
  • I find things like elliptical trainers and treadmills boring. I am currently doing 4 classes a week - Zumba, ShBam, BodyCombat - and what makes me feel good is the music and getting the moves right. Maybe the exercise you are doing isn't inherently enjoyable for you so you don't get the feel good feel. Maybe try listening…
  • I was an emotional eater but I have successfully reduced this using a technique called PSTEC (http://www.pstec.org/definition.php) I was honestly skeptical about it but I have found it really did work and helped with reducing emotional eating and reducing my likelihood to give into cravings and temptations.
