Struggling to find my mojo...my reason...
hi all I've been on the weightloss roller coaster most of my life and it's tiring to have to pay so much attention to diet and exercise In order to make sure I try to keep my weight at a reasonable level (I'm not at my heaviest, I lost 10kg about 18 months ago). I need to lose another 10kg to get into a healthy weight…

HRM and calories used in exercise
I've been using a good HRM (Polar) to measure calorie use during exercise - I do cardio classes and some Pump too. But people on here have suggested the HRM may be overestimating calorie burn. Does anyone have any thoughts or info on the reliability of HRM calculation of estimated calories used in a workout?

Nothing to show for my hard work
So for the past month I have been tracking food and exercising an average of 4-5 days a week (usually 60 mins or more, mostly cardio classes and some Pump classes). I've been netting 1200-1400 cals a day. The scales have not moved at all, my clothes feel the same, maybe there's a little more muscle on me but it's minimal.…

getting back on the wagon....
So I hit a plateau a few months ago and then I got sick and stopped watching my food intake and didn't/couldn't exercise for about 5 weeks. I've maintained my weight but I need to get back on the wagon and am really having trouble, especially with food, I've gone back to the gym (3 times this week and twice last week).…

When to recalculate TDEE?
Hi So when should I recalculate TDEE to account for any weight/body fat lost? Should I just do it when the scales go down :) or is there some kinda magic number like every 5lbs lost? Thanks A

My NSVs
It's bee about 2 months since getting back to the gym and tracking my food again but the scales haven't been moving that much. However, my efforts are starting to show outwardly. Several people have told me in the last few days that I've lost weight (yes I have!) and last week I finally ventured into Lululemon and tried on…

Calculating TDEE, with or without exercise?
Hi I know TDEE does take into account your level of activity but assumes this activity is fairly regular. The number of classes I do per week varies from 3 to 6 (depending on other commitments, kids etc). Am I better off calculating TDEE as a sedentary person, then work out a deficit for weight loss and use this value on…

Have been eating too little, now what?
Just worked out my BMR & TDEE and I've been eating about 400 cals too little (been eating less than my BMR). According to the advice on here, I should up my intake by 200 cals first for a week and not right up the full amount I should be eating. Is that right? I'm a little nervous about increasing my intake too much…

eating breakfast
Hi all The general wisdom is that you should eat breakfast. If I do eat breakfast, I find I am ravenous all day and eat over my allowance for the day. So generally now I don't eat until mid morning (10.30ish). I usually only have a latte (with light soy milk) in the morning and that seems to keep me going for a while. What…

Am I eating enough?
Hi all I lost 10kg last year by using the myfitnesspal app to count calories (cut my intake to about 1250 cals/day). I also started going to exercise classes but only towards the end of that 10kg (took about 6 months in total to lose that amount). I had surgery in July (so stopped diet and exercise) and have only just…
