I eat whatever I want as long as I keep within my calorie goal. Other than that, the only number I really pay attention to is my protein as I can often be pretty short.
-
Personally, yes. But it's your choice.
-
Starvation mode is not you eat less than you need and you gain weight. It's you consistently eat a lot less than you need so your body tries to convert as much energy as it can to fat and store it to keep you alive as long as possible. Note, you may still be losing weight and inches at this point. When you start eating…

I used to do it every week on Monday morning between getting up and having breakfast. I've got out of the habit in the last couple of months, but I plan to start again tomorrow. And I do the measurements as well, neck, waist and hips.

So it's inappropriate for you to wear just a sports bra, most of which are made to look like a crop top anyway, but not inappropriate for some men to walk around the streets with no shirts on? I don't do it personally, but that's because I have my own body issues that I have to deal with. I don't feel it's inappropriate at…

I haven't, as I haven't been swimming in years. However, I'm pretty sure the documents that came with my FT4 said it's fine to swim with.

It's not odd at all. Calories are what your body uses to fuel itself. As you lose weight, your body needs less fuel to run. Yes, there is such a thing as eating too few calories. There is a point where you don't eat enough to cover what you need to. This point will be different or everyone as it depends on height, build,…

I don't think the person you quote was actually suggesting that 100lbs per month is a possibility, but using that as a way of showing that it's a long term goal, rather than a short term one.

2lbs a week is a healthy, sustainable loss. Don't be discouraged by it, instead, you should celebrate it. I've just started back after 5 months or so of only logging sporadically and putting weight back on. If I manage 2 lbs off in the next week, I'll be ecstatic.

Normally, Shorts and a tank. Occasionally I go nude. If I was with someone though, I would definitely be nude and snuggled up with them.

As MeredithH6 says, losing 1-2lbs per week is ideal. Up until I started cheating a little, I was sticking to my calories and not doing any additional exercise and I was losing around that as well. I'm cutting out the cheating again starting tomorrow and hopefully I'll get back on track.

I don't make resolutions. And since this year I've lost 80 lbs so far and stopped smoking, I think that's working for me.
-
If only it worked like that. *Sighs wistfully*

Personally, Exercise and food I log for between when I sleep. SO if I had a snack at just after midnight before I go to sleep, I'd log on the previous day.

I've been seriously trying since March and I've lost 63lbs so far. It does seem to have slowed down some, but not a lot. I started at 300lbs and I still have a little to go until I'm at least in the overweight section of the BMI scale, but I'm also looking a lot better than I used to. And all I've really done is change my…

You can definitely tell. Well done and keep up the good work.

It's generally a cheat meal for me. But I always try to make sure that I stay below my daily goal calories. A cople of times I've not managed it, but less often than I thought I would when I first started here.

It could be that the chest strap wasn't quite right on your chest. I know that occasionally mine can give some reading I'm not 100% certain of whilst I'm exercising. Or sometimes it doesn't register a heartbeat at all. It usually turns out I've not wet the electrodes enough or I've got it on in the wrong spot.
-
The most accurate ones are the ones that come with a chest strap. I'm not sure about the ones that are just a watch as I've never used one.
-
If you get yourself a Heart Rate monitor with a chest strap, that will give you the most accurate calorie count. It's very unlikely that MFP will over estimate your calories though. It's usually on the low side.

They all seem to make sense from my brief scanning through of them. They also didn't tell me anything I didn't know but thanks for the link anyway.

If your goal is 1400, you've been eating 1700 -1800 but burning 1000 then you may be not eating enough. You should be trying to be close to your goal at the end of the day, but if your numbers are right, and from my experience I have no cause to doubt them, then you're only totaling around half of your goal calories.

I've been here a little over 5 months. In that time I've watched what I've been eating and exercised and I've lost 52lbs. I did briefly consider diet pills and surgery, but never seriously. From what I've heard, diet pills can be harmful and surgery is a very drastic step when for most people, calorie counting and exercise…

I'm with russelljclarke. Rowing machine. So much so that I bought one when I started here on mfp as I know I won't keep up going to the gym.
-
Just curious. Have you been taking measurements as well? It could be that you're putting on muscle as well as losing fat which is making the loss seem slow.

Personally, I can recommend Phoenix Rising : A Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences Novel by Pip Ballantine and Tee Morris.

i do most of my exercise on the Wii. Normally Wii Sports Tennis, but I also enjoy My fitness trainer dance workout which I think is called something else in the US. I've lost nearly 50lbs so far so it probably helps.

Welcome to MFP. It's been great for me so far, 39lbs down in around three months. It's good for friendly advice and support in my experience. I don't think I've ever seen a negative comment to someone else's post.
