  • It went the same way for me for over six months, then life changed and got in the way. We might have the best of intentions, but it can get hard, and for most people I think it WILL get hard at some point. The most important thing is to keep on trying, I suppose. As you said, reexamine your plan, and keep plodding forward.
  • BTDT, still muddling along. I went on vacation back in July, came back at the end of August and haven't managed to lose a pound yet. ~sigh~ I'm going to send you a friend request. Anything to kick-start my motivation!! I am thinking I'll have better luck once winter rolls around and there is nothing to distract me.
  • I LOVE that website! Also check out the Penn and Teller video about DHMO. Hilarious stuff. As someone pointed out, if you can see it, touch it, taste it , feel it, it is a chemical. Every single substance you need to sustain life is. There are good chemicals and bad ones. Artificial sweeteners are still on my no-fly list,…
  • I hope we don't have to preface everything we say on here with our credentials now. Some of you peeps earlier in the thread have spent lots and lots of time in post-secondary education! :drinker: Here goes my $0.02: Personally I don't "do" artificial sweetners of any kind. The few that I have tried have given me…
  • Thanks, squidgey!!! :flowerforyou:  :flowerforyou: I'm glad I'm not the only one who hits a flat spot at times. It was just depressing as heck to realize I'd backtracked months and wasn't making any progress at all lately. :grumble: Anyways, all I can do is just keep on keepin' on, I suppose. The alternative would…
  • I feel your pain. I've been back at logging for a few weeks now, and haven't lost a pound- instead, I've put some on. :noway: Of course, I'm eating crap (you should see my diary - it's embarassing). I hope you are able to find your groove!! :flowerforyou:
  • I suck - no healthy eating to be found with me. But I will tell you, having been on here for a little while, that friends seem to come and go on my list too. I miss seeing some of the peeps I started with posting, and I hate to see the "hasn't logged in a month" come up on the feed, but to each their own! I do wonder,…
  • Sad to say, my youngest will be 8 this year - I'm still trying to lose the baby weight from the 10 year old too. Seriously, good on ya for starting now, rather than waiting the majority of a decade to start like I did! :drinker:
  • Doin' the bat-wing bump!
  • I'm still on vacation, logging as best I can (spotty cell service in lots of the places we are visiting). I am scared about what I'll see on the scale when we get home! I feel your pain. :(
  • I'm currently vacationing and will be interested in seeing what the scale says when I get home! As long as I don't gain 10 or 12 pounds, I'll be okay with it! Obviously no advice to offer, but I'll be watching for what others have to say!
  • Couldn't agree more about it being an individual thing. I was in school for 11 years total, and that was just the way it was supposed to be. It was probably a year longer than it should have been, but I walked into a nice transitional position because of where that timing put me. As long as you meet your goal, how long it…
  • Honestly, your second post makes it sound like you already knew the answer before you asked the question, which makes me wonder why the first post was even done.
  • Sorry to hear about your Fire! Have you changed your Amazon password? My Fire has one-touch payment with no password protection for each purchase (a big security issue if it is lost or stolen) and I'd be really worried about someone charging up a storm if it disappeared! Also, try contacting Amazon customer support, as…
  • Congrats to you gals who lost baby weight after only 4 months! My oldest is 9 and I'm STILL trying to lose that baby weight.
  • You look great!! Love that dress!
  • This is a great read, and it seems like sound advice (not that I lift, but I AM going to start, and hopefully on the right foot, with the things in that article in mind).
  • Not to hijack a thread, but THANK YOU for posting this! I'm headed out for an extended road trip and plan on logging. I'm so glad to hear about your success.
  • You mean regular old pizza isn't good?! Say it ain't so!!
  • We leave for vacation in two weeks and I am really worried about the same thing. Everyone always posts "don't worry, you're on vacation", but you can undo a lot of hard work thinking that way on an extended vacation! Personally, I think I'm going to set myself to maintenance while away and stay within that range. It'll be…
  • Looking at your diary, I'd take a wild guess and say you need to EAT more, as others have pointed out. See your doctor if that doesn't help with the dizzy spells. No internet advice can replace a F2F visit with your physician.
  • My solution - work out indoors. I'm not much of a hot-weather person, probably because being heavy causes me to get really, REALLY hot when I do get going in the heat. Good luck OP :flowerforyou: find something that works for you, and just keep moving!
  • +1 Up at around 6:45, first meal at 11:30 or 12:00 usually (sometimes as late as 3 or 4) , and always something around 10:30 or 11:00 at night (a snack if it's not full-on dinner). If possible, I tend to hoard calories until that late night meal and gorge myself on something right before bed, after my evening workout.…
  • Welcome to the wonderful zig-zag line that is weight loss. I felt the exact same way early on - the first week, a little, the second week, gained it all back. But eventually it did head in the right direction, you just have to stay the course! Good luck!
  • I don't know what to say, other than the b***h at the store is the one that needs to be slapped! :explode:  I'd go all  on her *kitten*!
  • I'm 5'3" and around 163 pounds. I upped my calories to ~1500 and haven't seen any downside to it weight-loss wise. I also eat back exercise calories. Sadly, I don't lift (I WILL be starting when I get back from my summer vacation) just do a little cardio here and there, and I love, love, LOVE me those extra calories! I…
  • On weekdays, I always hit the gym at night, 8pm or after. It just works best for me. Weekends, it's whenever the heck I can get there, if at all!
  • For me it was between 25 and 30 pounds whne people started occasionally commenting - to date though, many people haven't said anything, and I expect it is for the very reasons mentioned earlier. It's a tough thing to bring up, for so many reasons! I also have to mention that if you are still in the same clothes, it makes…
  • I'm sort of in the same boat - I've lost a tad more than you have (started January 31st), but I have this screaming-green-eyed-monster moment every once in a while when I see someone who started around the same time I did who has lost 50+ pounds. It's a weird combination of  , and  ! Seriously, I'm happy…
