Agh! I am now heavier than I was on January 1st. Back to strict calorie counting. In fact I haven't been this heavy since August, 2012! Agh!

How is everybody doing so far in 2016? My weight still fluctuates, but I have been good, and am still down 1.4 kg (3.1 lb) so far this year, on January 11.

I'm stopping vegan for now and concentrating on an alternate, healthy way of dieting. Anyway, I'm down 2.0 kg (4.4 lb) so far in 2016!

That's great, FriedBob. I'm depressed. After 6 days in 2016 I was bad today and had lots of things I should not have eaten. I'm afraid to check the scale tomorrow. My new year's resolution is now broken. I'm down. I guess I'll try again starting in the morning. but I can no longer say I've been on my diet all year. :(

Day 6 - minus 1.0 kg. Except for the first day I have gained weight every day even though I've stuck to my calories! I'm making an adjustment today in *what* I eat. I think rice is killing me.

Day five. Currently down 1.2 kg (2.6 lb) for the year so far. Don't know why I've gained weight the last couple of days. I've been good.

Well, I think the important thing is to remember that no matter what kinds of food you eat, most of us absolutely must track and limit net calories (what we eat minus exercise). I might try some more pasta. I can make my own tomato sauce from a can of crushed tomatoes and spices boiled down to make it thicker. I'll give it a try! Evenings! Don't tell me about evenings! What happens to me all the time is that I can be good all day, but then 4 or 5 pm rolls by and I see an "empty evening" ahead of me and decide to fill it with eating. And the food is never really more than a fleeting satisfaction - and even often disappointing.

I was somehow super good today, eating just 1227 calories and also getting in a nice, brisk walk. I don't know why it was so easy today and so difficult on other days.
