In my humble experience I would eat something carbs within half an hour of training to replace energy and take a protein drink to aid in tissue/muscle recovery.

I would stick to wine or beer, mainly for your health. The liver can digest this a lot better than spirits! I have stopped drinking 80% of the time now an use the same rule as I do for food. 80% good...20% bad! I exercise 3-5 times a week. You don't have to give up things you enjoy afterall it's a lifestyle, not a diet…

I am desperate to lose 12lbs before xmas, which is doable if my social life remeains not very busy over the next few weeks lol

You must be doing something wrong coz my mate lost loads of weight on the takeaway diet! Maybe you should buy the food and take it home....that could help??

I love Strawberry Nitrotech by Muscletech!! It tastes like Angel delight! It is 80% pure whey isolate too so doesn't give me tummy ache :-). It is more expensive then PHD and ON etc but it is the premium range. It does have 20% whey concentrate in it for the nutrients but it is good if you aren't too good with lactose.

I take my calories from the key machine at the gym. TOday I burnt 469 cals doing running, kinesis, floor work nd weights. I log it as gym session that I input manually :-)

Agree with this. I think it silly to log everyday stuff. I don't log walking to the shops or to school as it's a must in my life as is cleaning :-)

If it doesn't hurt to walk then trade it for power walking on a gradient? Better for you than running anyway, although I too love running. Hope it gets better quickly x

thanks all! Have changed my daily intake to 1500 net. Am ill at the mo so have had 2 days off the exercise and will just go for a walk tomorrow instead of the gym. Will see what happens in the next month :-)

thanks guys. My problem is I want to do everything. I love Jillian michaels so do her shred and 6 pack. I love walking so try to do this twice a week and I love the gym so try to do this twice a week too. Some days I have only eaten 900ish cals and some days I have eaten 1800. So if i need 2200ish to maintain my weight including the exercise I do then I reckon I should be on around 1700 a day. I may need to up my calories a bit. I aim for 1270 a day if not exercising.

I did my first one on monday and my back is killing me where I have used muscles I don't normally (and I exercise a lot). My thighs ache too. I think it's just moving the muscles in a different way. The more you do the better you will feel but make sure you warm up and down properly :)

Can I also just add that you will be a lot better off drinking the sports drinks over water in a long distance run. THe sports drink will replenish lost salts, sugars and keep you energised and your tank full. The water will quench your thirst but nothing else, infact it will help with the loss of salts as you will be…
