Wow you look fantastic! Grats! :)

Thanks all! I'm focusing now on just keeping a healthy diet and exercise regimen and whatever happens on the scale happens :)

Thank you!

WoW! You're amazing! And, you've decided me. I am going to join a gym and get a trainer to show me how I can start lifting.
-
And know what? I'm going to post me some success pictures too!

What great advice guys, thanks. My current loss is set to 1lb a week, which gives me a calorie allowance of 1290. I'm just learning about BMR and stuff (I didn't really understand what it was) and the basic calculation on MFP says my BMR is 1490. I looked at upping my calories before by changing my loss to 0.5lb a week,…

I know! I took you seriously - you've had great results so I trusted your advice. Plus, I got paid so I could go food shopping :)

Thanks Daram! You're probably right, maybe I just need to focus on everything but the number for a while :)
-
Also - I used to have a problem with the combination pill (kept having migraines where I'd lose all vision), which is why I went on depo. However, while I live in the UK, there is a new single hormone pill available, but it might be different if you're in the US. Sorry you're having problems, hope it gets worked out soon!

I was on Depo for two years. At first I was fine, but after 14 months I literally started to go crazy. I couldn't regulate my emotions, was hungry, tired, grumpy, moody, etc *all the time*. If you have any other option, I really wouldn't recommend it.

Definitely! Sometimes, I reckon it's water retention, but I also get cravings a couple of days before my period so I eat different foods. The weight normally comes off once my period starts. Totally normal :)

Hey, This is why we're told not to weigh ourselves everyday, but I can't always help myself either! Your weight will fluctuate for loads of reasons, including but not limited to: -when you last ate -*what* you last ate (if it had a lot of salt, you will retain some fluids) -how much fluids you've consumed -what you're…

Some days, you're just hungry. And some days, life's just too much! Let yourself have this "time off" - just make sure you record everything. Tomorrow, get yourself right back on plan and don't beat yourself up about it. You can do some extra exercise if you like, but if you're on weight loss rather than maintenance,…

Yeh I know. I think I might just write today off! Not food/exercise wise but study-wise, I am just not getting anyway. Maybe if I just take some time to chill out I'll feel better tomorrow.

OMG you look fantastic!!!

I think so - I'd originally set it for 133lbs (9st 7lbs) but I felt when I hit 147 I just couldn't do another 14lbs! So I changed it to 140, which is in my healthy BMI range. Good point to mention though, because that is definitely somehting I had to change along the way was my expectations of what I was going to achieve.…

Wow isn't it funny how many of us are in the same boat? I'm being very careful with my tracking and started the 30DS on Sunday so I'm keeping everything crossed that I might see a difference there. It's maybe just a funk or a fat day or whatever but it's just so hard you know? I know it's in my head and I maybe just need…

Awesome!

You look absolutely amazing, congratulations!

Hey, Good luck and congrats on starting your journey! Feel free to add me if you like xo

Sorry for my ignorance, but what's plyometric stuff?

It's really interesting to hear everyone's different views. I eat a lot of carbs at the moment (like pasta and rice) but normally have them with some form of protein, or quorn or something. My pasta is just white, but always go with brown rice and wholemeal for everything else. We've stocked up on some meat recently, but…

Wow, just changing my goal to .5lb a week from 1lb has upped my calories to 1540 a day! Bit nervous about the big jump, but am going to stick with it for at least until the new year to give my body time to adjust. I have to say, it does seem a lot more manageable.

Thanks everyone, these are some great suggestions. I'm going to change my weight loss target to 0.5lb a week, and focus on making sure my net calories are at the suggested rate, because looking over the last wee while some days I'm a bit over or way under or somewhere in between. I'm hoping that ensuring my net calories…

I agree with Goldenwoof, you need to mae a serious decision whether this guy is actually worth your time. If you want to lose weight, fine, but do it for you not for him. If you do it for him, you're only going to resent him in the end and not be motivated. Fair enough, your bf might want you to lose weight, and it's hard…
-
You're right - in the first 18 months, I only lost 7" overall. In the last three I've lost 13", and it's only since that I've started feeling a lot better! xo
-
That's really helpful, thanks ms78. I'm 5'6" so not really tall, but quite well balanced I suppose. I genuinely do find myself looking in the mirror and liking what I see, other than a little flab that I think I can tone up with some hard work. I started out this journey being obsessed with the scale, but after a lot of…

Thanks everyone. To answer some of your questions: I don't know my body fat % but my BMI is 23.6 (in healthy range, but at the top end of it). My exercise is a mix of power walking, taekwondo and strength training. I'm hoping to join the gym at the end of the month to add in more cardio classes and better strength training…
