Hi y'all! I was just wondering if anyone has found a difference in what they weight before their time of the month, during, or after?
I'm about to start and I noticed this morning I was about 2 pounds heavier than usual. Is this common or did I just put more weight on?
Thanks!

I think it is very common to retain water and get a bit bloated around that time of the month. I have a bit of a fluctuation in weight usually about 4 days before that time of the month.0
-
Definitely!
Sometimes, I reckon it's water retention, but I also get cravings a couple of days before my period so I eat different foods. The weight normally comes off once my period starts.
Totally normal0 -
I gain 5 pounds beforehand. :grumble:
It's a bummer.0 -
water retention! i gain 4 pounds on my period0

OMG @#$&%*+_$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:grumble:0

I usually don't gain, but I do notice I crave more "bad" stuff like chocolate and snack type of items.0
-
Urgh... I gain, I bloat, I eat, I crave, I cry, I crave some more and I bloat. Did I mention that I crave too?!! LOL!
Give and take: 2-4 pounds a few days before, during and after.0 -
I will not weigh myself the week before my period, and I wait three or four days after I'm done to weigh myself. Because my weight goes crazy up and down and I just don't want to deal with it. I KNOW it's water weight, etc but it's hard to see the scale go up haha0

I typically gain 2-3 pounds during my TOM. I try to cut back on sodium the week before, but it's hard because that's what I crave too.0

It's common. It's normal to bloat too during that time. I use Midol or Pamprin to help me with that. My mom swears by drinking warm lemon water. It is suppose to help. I've noticed a lot of posts on here about women gaining on their period, but it goes away after "Aunt Flow" leaves.0

period = fatso0

I don't think I've ever had my period without gaining 2 lbs in my boobs alone, let alone the rest of my body0
-
I weighed this morning too I'm due on after the weekend so I'm not happy lol hopefully it will disappear.0

In most cases i think women tend to be slightly heavier before and a couple of days during .
I wouldn't worry about it0 -
My last period I actually lost weight during it, which I found odd.0

I got on the scale yesterday and was up 3 lbs I was like UHH yah it is just water retention from T.O.M! so was like whatever
got back on this morning and it was gone... so yep! I retain water... as for the cravings... I munch on things like 90 calorie Quaker rice cakes... with chocolate drizzle.. or the ThinSations ...
apples and peanut butter? drink lots of water... and remind myself... what I am trying to do... and not sabotage myself... FIGHTING the cravings are HARD sometimes... but we have to keep the big picture in mind... or rather the smaller one hehehe0 -
Yup. I gain about 3 or 4 pounds right before & by the end of the week its gone.0

i always get angry because my period leads me to eat less and exercise more, and yet for the whole week my weight stays the same. however, a few days after my period is over i get a nice whoosh and it makes it worth it0
-
Ahh this makes me feel better! Thanks ladies!
And I feel yah with the cravings! I'm terrible for giving in to them.
Any suggestions on how to make the bloating go down? Or is it just yet another thing us women have to deal with ):0 -
I typically gain 4lbs before...during...after my period. I also get a horrible case of the munchies and have to really watch myself. It sucks.0
-
not every time, but I have noticed up to either 4 or 6 lbs over I don't remember. Like I said it doesn't happen every time. It was water weight, I know I didn't mess up my diet.0
-
Up to 8lbs... so yeah, it's common I think ^^0

during this time of the month: drink lots of water, decrease your salt intake, increase your physical activity, and eat well...easier said than done i'm straight to the chocolate! (avoid caffeine & alcohol, calcium-rich diets reduces bloating, veggies & fruits with a lot of water)0 -
I retain and crave chocolate and salty foods.0
