Skip the supplement unless you are maybe thinking protein powder. Gimmicky pills don't work. Eat a balanced diet of wholesome foods, allow yourself the odd treat, fitting into your daily calorie goal, and keep active. Have small attainable goals, and go day by day. Be accountable to yourself, and make sure those around you…

My training groups have always done race pace only during the taper. Distance significantly reduced, but speed maintained. Tapering now for my half next weekend.

BMI of 18 here, no issues maintaining. I have been fluctuating between 110 and 113. 5'5". No issues health-wise.

I am 5'5", 43, small framed and 110. Still a bit fluffy, and will work on recomp this winter once running season is over. I started at 132. I'd say go until you feel good about yourself, not what a BMI chart or random strangers say is good for you.

Thumbs up here, although I did find it hard (and tiring) going 6 days straight. (If you follow their formula.) I only lost 4lbs and 4" so keep expectations in check.

Eat. Exercise more if you want to keep your net to 1200. A boiled egg is 80ish cals, combined with a fruit or veg is a low cal snack. If you are eating so little that you are in bed, what is the point? This should be lifestyle change, and I doubt that staying in bed all day miserable is sustainable.

I'm doing the army half, it will be my second. Hoping for a pb again this year. Had a very inspiring talk from one of the soldiers at Soldier On at our run club recently. Hope the weather holds out again this year.

Quest definitely has gluten free bars (cookies and cream is one of them). Not sure about the others. I would imagine they have a bunch. Quest rocks. Coconut cashew is also really good.

Sign yourself up for a clinic with the Running Room. They will get you to the finish line safely. You could sign up for the 10k clinic this fall, and they will likely have an early spring clinic for the half which would give you time for Niagara. (I've always wanted to run that race!) their half marathon clinics are 16…

My maintenance is1600 and deficit is1350. This is with 4x a week training for a half marathon, and regular noontime walks. My BMR Is reaaaally low.

96lbs? Why on earth? Way below a healthy BMI. Strength train to build muscle, and boost your metabolism. Burn more= eat more.

Depending on which video, I logged as high impact aerobics or circuit training, or something close.

It's because their product is the same and they want you to buy it. My ortho went to a seminar in Cali held by them and was told that pretty much. He gave it the thumbs up. You'd be surprised how quick gunk builds up, even with brushing. Do what works for you. I've had these retainers in for 9 mos now, and zero issues.

Ya, life coach must be in the manual. Reference to Chalene was a dead giveaway.

Start slow. Like real slow. Speed will naturally come with time, really. Build your mileage slowly, no more than 10% per week to avoid injury. If your body is hurting rest it. If your body is tired rest it. Slow and steady wins the race as they say. C25k is great, just don't try to go too fast too soon. Almost 2 yrs in,…

I don't believe that the Garmin interfaces at all with MFP. Love my flex.

^ This. Because if you don't they catch on fire and smoky brownie is not an official flavour. That's my best guess of what would happen though. I would never have forgotten to take the wrapper off and accidentally set fire to the kitchen microwave at work.

It gets much easier, the further in you get. (Except for TBC). Beta is waaaaaay easier than Alpha, and the workouts whiz by faster I found. I just finished it 2 weeks ago. I only lost 3 lbs, and 5", but I didn't really have much to lose and had switched to maintenance at the beginning of beta. Keep at it ladies. The pain…

Thanks for the input. I guess I'll just watch progression and not push it too much.

Bump...anyone doing NROLFW?

OP, so how did it go? Congrats on a PR!

I was diagnosed 12 yrs ago yesterday. Time has flown by. 9 yrs of torment with injections 3x a week. Now on Gilenya and haven't looked back. I don't feel that MS led to weight gain, that had everything to do with intake. I've lost 20-ish lbs and am at my lowest since university. I exercise 5-6 days a week, and am in the…

Invisible braces in the form of moulded plastic (think night guard). You change them every 2 weeks, for *insert treatment length here* and voilà straighter teeth better smile.
-
I just graduated this past Tuesday, and am on night retainers only. What was supposed to be "16-20 mos" was 30 mos. the orthos don't mention the refinements. Oh, and the 6 mos of 20/7 retainer wear after you are done to "set" the teeth in their new place. :P I also had regular braces for 3 mos on top, and can say without a…

Thanks everyone. I'm going to sign up for the training clinic for a fall half. :)

Lead by example. I started running, DH followed suit 6 mos later. I started weighing and measuring food (vs using cups and best guesstimate), and he is measuring too. He now has a fitbit, and is weighing and logging food. Your DH may not be the same, but don't push, just encourage and talk about your successes.

Mostly walking, a 10k and 6k last week, 10k race this weekend, and a couple of short treadmill runs. Last week felt good, but I've been pretty exclusive to T25 since the beginning of March.

I love Garmin. I have the 610 and love it. Keep in mind what your future plans are. If you think you will be wanting more out of your Garmin later on, go as high as you can now. It's all about what bells and whistles you want. Happy running! (Or walking)

Cadbury Creme Egg without a doubt. However, Had a McD's Creme Egg McFlurry last night as a treat and immediately felt sick. Have been dealing with nausea, bloating and gas all day. I guess my body just isn't used to that anymore.

I'm on week two of beta, and tbh, I am exhausted. I was running 4x a week before that, and have cut it out due to sheer muscle fatigue. I can't wait for it to be over to get back to running. I did two half marathons last year, and another one coming up this fall. It has been great for overall strength and toning, but 6x a…
