  • I'm on week two of beta, and lost two lbs and 3 ish inches overall in alpha. I am much stronger, and see ab definition beginning. A lot will depend on your diet while doing the program and how intense you workout. I do find it physically exhausting though. Not so much each individual dvd, but the cumulative effects of the…

  • ^^ Low post counts doesn't necessarily mean that we haven't researched. We could just be quiet and learning. I personally have been around for 1.5 years while losing my 20ish lbs. Most of my success is due to the info gained on the forum.
  • Netting 1200 ish here too, open diary. In the beginning, I didn't know about eating back exercise cals. Now, I'm eating way more, treats fairly regularly, but I stay within a decent range. I have a very (very) sedentary desk job, but run and do other exercise a lot to be able to eat more. I'm middle aged, so slower…
  • In for the save.
  • 5'5", 43 yo, small frame, here. I've lost most of my weight through deficit and running. I started in Jul 2012 and took a few diet breaks (last summer, and this past Christmas) so have re-lost 5lbs a few times within this time period. SW 132 CW 112 GW 110 ish I'm not really sure what I want my GW to be since I am at a…
  • Ladies, you can do it !! Breast feeding is hard work, feed your body in order to feed your babies. I bf'd for 13 mos until I went back on meds for my MS. I ate a healthy diet, didn't even pay attention to cals, and walked a lot. With spring coming, I encourage you to have a good nurse, bundle up the baby and head out for a…
  • I don't necessarily think 115 is unrealistic depending on her frame and what her fitness goals are. I'm 5'5" as well, currently 113, and could probably stand to lose about 3-4 lbs of fat, but I would gladly replace that with muscle. That said, I have a very small frame, and still have love handles and a bit of belly pooch.…
  • What about adding some body weight exercises in to add strength routines to your cardio sessions? Google has thousands.
  • They say abs are made in the kitchen. This was made in my kitchen, so I figured it was a good start.
  • Bump for later.
  • I guess as with anything, w hat you put in, you will get out. If you follow the program and the eating plan, or a healthy plan, you are bound to see some results. I just finished week one, and love the program. Not doing their plan, or drinking their shakes, but a healthy eating plan within my MFP limits and dropped 2lbs…

  • I started at 41, worked up my mileage, and ran my first half marathon 10 months later, 2nd half was six months after that and I broke 2hrs. :) Just try not to do too much too soon. Increase your mileage by 10% per week. You don't need to be fast in the beginning, it comes naturally later on.
  • I would suggest a HRM. I just started tonight 1200ish cals, and I only burned 150. (5'5" f/114, so that will make a diff for you) I too am a desk rat during the day. I was surprised at how little it burned. I was pushing hard, practically no modifiers either. Not quite a nailed it, but not a "barely survived". I liked the…
  • Woohoo!! It came in the mail today, starting tonight. :)
  • Waiting for mine too! Looking to tone up. :)
  • Google Reynauds syndrome/disease and see if this applies to you. No advice really, I have been freezing all winter. Losing fat doesn't help with insulation. :S
  • My usual lunch is: Hard boiled egg (80 cals) Zero fat yogurt (35cals) Apple (80 cals) Cucumber slices (20 cals) Popcorn flavoured rice cake with 1tsp low fat cream cheese (60 cals) Under 300 next to no prep work required.
  • How do you eat your egg whites? Lately I have been having 1/4 c of egg whites with 1/2 c mushrooms, 1/4 c. Zucchini, 1/4 c red pepper, and 1/4 c tomato. I sauté the veggies in cooking spray add a little s&p and then add the egg. It's mostly veggies and has great flavour. Very filling and very low cal. Today I had that with…
  • Agree with this. I did 1 hr on the treadmill this aft, and my HRM was 250 cal less than what the machine said. They are normally pre-populated for a larger and older (than 17) person. I also don't count strength training for added back cals. ETA: meant to quote the poster who said to count less cals burned than what the…
  • Some of my lower cal days include Bfast: Raisin bran w/ 1% milk/banana (approx 390) Lunch: Hard boiled egg Grape tomatoes Low fat yogurt Apple Social tea cookies (3) (Approx 300) Dinner Chilli and rice with sour cream (approx 500) That is about 1200 give or take, and you have 300 to play with for beverages or snacks.…
  • I have used Bodylogix after my long runs for protein to aid recovery. It is a protein "shake" not a meal replacement. You will still feel hungry after if that is all you are eating for a meal. The taste is good (chocolate).
  • http://www.emilybites.com/2013/02/cherry-cheesecake-cups.html Your welcome. Perfect portion controlled cheesecakes!
  • I bought the Garmin 610 last year after reading the reviews on dcrainmaker. Best running investment I ever made. I bought it after using run keeper for a while, and wanted to get a bit more serious. I was training for my first half. You won't regret the investment.
  • I have a tv and PVR in front of mine. Passes time quote nicely. ;) I also have a great run mix on my ipod I made for my first half marathon. It makes me remember the route when I hear the songs. more inspiration.
  • I started Rin30 mid Jan but have joined. I do it 6x before moving on to the next level, but it might be just over a week. Usually workout 4-5x a week. Loved week one, although was sore for 3 days after the first workout. Week 2 was much more intense than week one. About to start week 3. Good luck, ladies!
  • Week one here. She's kicking my *kitten*. ;) Hamstrings are really sore though. I didn't find her pace too tough, very easy to follow.
  • I often have a hard boiled egg with salt and pepper, low fat Greek yogurt, apple/orange, and either cucumber or carrots. It's mostly because I am too lazy to make anything interesting to take to work. ;)
  • I just stared Rin30 yesterday. So sore, but made it through day2 today. I thought i was in better shape. I ran 2 half marathons last year. :P loving JM THOUGH.
