  • When I started using this site I was at 215.....as of today I am at 210......on my way to 200. I attribute my success thus far to an improving diet, daily exercise and constantly keeping my health at the top of my mind. If it isn't important to you, then it isn't likely to happen. Stay dedicated and don't let anything get…
  • Great replies...thank you all.
  • I can't believe I am over 2,000 mg's beyond my requirement.....my God...it's as if I drank out of a salk shaker for five minutes. I guess my canned chili was the biggest culprit today. Guess tomorrow it's an all-fruit diet....no chance of that since I'm going to the Chief's game.
  • Loretta. No prob. I felt like I was in Seinfeld episode (trying out every single scale in the store).....only a few people were wondering what the Hell I was doing!
  • Loretta.....you can buy the $340 scales if you'd like, but honestly, the one I got for $30.00 is very accurate. Now, it doesn't do some of the other things that the high-dollar scales do, but if you want an accurate reading on a consistent basis, I'd get the $30.00 Tanita.
  • As some of you know, I've gone through many gyrations trying to find a scale that not only was accurate, but consistent. After returning three different scales, I've finally reached my objective.... The $29.99 Tanita (UM-028) from Bed, Bath & Beyond. It took me 30 minutes of trying virtually every sale on their shelf to…
  • I've been on this site now for our days and loving it. I've never charted my calories, exercise or anything else before now. As good as I think this site is, I think it can be even better, but I'm satisfied with it thus far. One thing that is really frustrating is not finding a scale that is accurate. How can I chart my…
  • Great response! Thanks!
  • I joined this site a week ago and already I am seeing some great revelations.......... One of them is that I seem to be consuming a lot of calories long before the evening.... For instance, for both yesterday and today, I consumed all but about 400 of the recommended calories and I still have the remainder of the day to…
  • Good stuff everyone. Thank you so much for being so helpful! So if I understand everything right, if I do nothing (no exercise or cardio) for the day, then the focus is totally on calorie intake. For instance, today is "my day off" regarding working out. I typically work out six out of seven days. So today, I need to make…
  • Does anyone know if the food diary takes into the calories that we all burn just from normal activity? It seems the only accounting it allows for is for calories burned from cardio. Forrest
  • CM: Thanks for the response....I tried everything....including keeping the scale in the exact same spot...and resetting it, etc......I bought it at CVS Pharmacy.....I hear that Tanita is the most accuate....that may be my next purchase....If not, my next stop is to one of my clients that's a veterinarian...he has very…
  • Yes....I placed them on a flat, hard surface (bathroom tile floor) and thet readings were inconsistent. I've heard that scales can be like that, but surely there are some that are accurate.
  • I can't believe how difficult it is to find a reliable scale! I've bought two now (and returned them both) due to their inconsistency. Both of them were digital so I thought they'd be better. Hardly. One minute I weighed 215, another I'd weigh 212. Any ideas??? Thanks, Forrest
  • Hey Real Estate Man.........I feel your pain. I got divorced two years ago and it seems like I inflated. I was roughly 200 before the "splits" and now I'm at 215. I've always been in great shape; I play competitive baseball, coach my son's team and worked out regularly. But one day I just looked in the mirror and saw the…
  • I'm very deep in the midwest..............Kansas City..........a long walk to the beach.
  • Hi everyone! My name is Forrest and I am 6'2" and weigh 216. My goal is to get to 200. I am a single dad with an incredible 8-year-old son. This is my first serious attempt at losing weight (never been an issue before). So far, I like Myfitnesspal.
