As some of you know, I've gone through many gyrations trying to find a scale that not only was accurate, but consistent. After returning three different scales, I've finally reached my objective....

The $29.99 Tanita (UM-028) from Bed, Bath & Beyond. It took me 30 minutes of trying virtually every sale on their shelf to finally find the one that was consistent.

So, for those of you that are looking for a good Christmas present...there you have it.

  • there was an articale on the prevention.com web site where thay tested all the latest scales for accuracy and it gives a list of them.
just go to prevention.com and search: scales
but i think the one you picked was on the list.

These are the scales I am going to buy in the next couple of months. I have thrown away enough money on bathroom scales to have already bought these.
I am going to bit the bullet and go ahead and buy them. These are the same scales we use at our meetings.
    Tanita BWB-800S Digital Medical Scale
    Price.....$340.00
  • Loretta.....you can buy the $340 scales if you'd like, but honestly, the one I got for $30.00 is very accurate. Now, it doesn't do some of the other things that the high-dollar scales do, but if you want an accurate reading on a consistent basis, I'd get the $30.00 Tanita.

Thank you Forrest. I will keep those scales in mind. We don’t have a Bed Bath and Beyond here. I have to see the neurologist in Little Rock in a few days and we pass right by one there. We will go in and check them out. :flowerforyou:

I have printed out the name and model number and put it in my purse so we can ask for the right ones.
And hey look you have saved us 30 minutes of trying them out too.
    Thanks again :flowerforyou:

Thanks for the Prevention article. I went ahead and ordered their top rated body fat one. It was less than $40 from Amazon (not the $100 the article says). Merry Christmas to me! I got my other Christmas present today as well - a heart rate monitor - I'm about it try it out at the gym.
  • Loretta. No prob. I felt like I was in Seinfeld episode (trying out every single scale in the store).....only a few people were wondering what the Hell I was doing!
