I don't eat before I run but I do eat a kind breakfast bar at mile 15 to carry me to mile 26. It's okay to be hungry but you need to figure out what you can eat :)

High pony tail with a braid. My hair is 3/4 of the way down my back (a couple inches above my butt) and this is the only way for me.
-
I went down the slide with my 2 year old and fit!!! I ran 13 miles this morning. I fit into a smaller size jeans
-
I love the Hal Higdon plans! I used them for my first 5k, 10k, half and now marathon in May. You can do it! Find your food rhythm, I don't eat before I run and I don't drink until mile 10 (I don't eat til mile 8).

I long run on Saturday- 8 miles (regression run)
-
I didn't do couch to 5k, I did Jeff Galloways training for a half marathon a few years ago. It took me twice as long but when I was ready to run again after my 4th was born I was able to jump into it. Don't compare where you are to anyone else.

Thanks, I hope that you're never in a position where your body is not doing what it's supposed to and when you seek help someone is a snarky jerk.
-
I I have my calories based on my Fitbit, co is off my lowest resent weight, which would be lower than it is now. Again- nutritionist is helping with ensuring that my calories on vs calories out are correct. I'm not giving up on lifting but super appreciate the snark
-
Aside from the fact that I log & measure every single thing that goes into my body, I'd agree. But ya know, I didn't ask for nutrition help- I have a nutritionist & med team for that I asked for advice on lifting. I got that- lift heavy for gains on the off season. Lift heavy for running goals in the on season (lighter…
-
Hehe, never sacrifice fuel for a calorie deficit. I wouldn't do well. He wants me to lay off because he thinks the gain is muscle mass and he's afraid I'm not going to do well emotionally with the gain

Everything I eat is measured :-/ and with the amount of running I'm doing (100-150 miles a month) I'm not at a surplus, I've lost inches not lbs though. My goals are to drop weight but more importantly beast the heck out of my running. Right now my schedule is insane M- 3 miles + Lifting T- 6 miles W- 3 miles Th- lifting…

I'm on the verge of losing my first. It's an honor
-
What is it set to? I start my day with 800 calories on my hr and then after running, lifting, walking and living I'm at 1900. I eat 200 under that
-
Running has helped mine a ton (almost gone). Running naturally works the core without straining it. I've had dr happen with two of my kids (8 & 9 lbs). It was completely healed between the two from running and it's in the process now.
-
My favorite: You should eat 300 calories under your BMR to lose weight. False
-
I'm not worried about speed, it comes naturally unless I'm doing speed work lol This makes perfect sense. I'm going to say the Fitbit app isn't great for its gps (which they suggest for more accuracy). Stride length and speed vary based on - length of run, how hilly the run is, wind so doing it based on stride & speed is…

I would reply here. Longer miles are hard What's your routine look like Training program Why do you think your legs wouldn't hurt? You're pushing them beyond comfort
-
She asked me what tdee was and told me to stop trying to complicate things
-
I try to stay about 200 total calorie deficit for the day (which is what Fitbit is set to, so if I run 10 miles and walk another 3 through the day it auto calculates that 200 cal deficit). I feel like if I tried to eat 1200 calories after running/lifting I would be starving
-
As for cardio negatively affecting strength- I have steady & awesome gains and I run 100 miles a month (for now it'll be about 150 soon).
-
I do 5x5 stronglifts 3 days a week and run 4 days a week. I'm training for a marathon and ultra marathon and lifting heavy is a big part of my training. I would add HIIT for 20 minutes on non lift days
-
I'm a long distance runner and if I didn't eat back my calories I would starve. You need food, good clean food to lose weight. Eventually you may be able to run, maybe you won't. Both are okay. Lift weights and I suggest something like the healthyhappyfreeplan.com style clean eating meal plan
-
I would run it, slow and steady
-
That 7.17 a mile which is great for a woman. I don't race to win and usually pace at 10 ish for my runs. Work on the pace that best suits you and always strive to pr More importantly you had a baby last month and need to give your body 8 weeks to begin to heal. Wait before you go back out to run until you're cleared by a…

Both

Low and behold lots of great advice! Thanks y'all!
-
I already did lol, what happened? I've been able to jump back in pretty seamlessly but I'm doing my first 8 mile run in about a year Saturday
-
Like 5 lbs lol

I'm so excited!! Considering my training this week has been a high vibe, happy place and I've PR'd every run I'm over the moon. A little worried about the long runs (20+ miles) during the 100+ degree summer but...who needs to sleep? Night time is for running too, right?

Which I just went in and changed...my profile was 4 years old and hadn't been updated. No insults intended and I'm CERTAIN if he is an experienced runner he understands the defensiveness. Just waking up and deciding to run an ultra is not the brightest idea... But as the OP states these aren't my first races *cough* second…
