Try changing up your typical routine. I notice the best results when I do different kinds of exercises, especially if I add heavy weights to a routine. You can measure the accuracy of your scale by putting a weight on it. If you put a 8lb weight on it, and it isn't reading 8lbs, then adjust accordingly.
