The recommendation to limit added sugar is generally not useful for people who are already counting calories. Limiting added sugar is a reasonable way to reduce calorie intake (thus the WHO recommendation to limit them) but if you're already counting your calories, it becomes unnecessary to also track sugar (assuming…

And I think they were very far off the mark.

Competitive shooting (as she's clarified is what she's doing) involves running/sprinting from one shooting position to the next. It isn't just standing and shooting a pistol.

I don't sweat much in the winter but my gym gets warmer in the summer so I'll jump into a cold shower for like a minute just to chill off before I change back into my work clothes.

I guess I just don't see how there's any connection with baby formula having too much water in it and a question about whether or not lemon water is just as good as regular water.

The bolded is exactly what I was getting at.

Ground that isn't suitable for cattle isn't suitable for food crops.

Not only did I not say that it doesn't happen, I said that it does. My earlier position was not that it doesn't happen but that it's highly unlikely that it happened here.

How is the FTC bringing cases against violators if this kind of thing isn't being policed? Speaking from experience (I work with paid sponsorships on YouTube and Instagram), I have enormous doubts that the instagram post in question wouldn't have an #ad disclosure if the bike was provided by Peloton.

Instagram/Facebook/YouTube etc. all monitor that kind of thing in a big way (and those who make or support their living through social media know it). Chances are a small/beginner influencer could be ignorant to the rules or try to break them and not get caught but anyone with prominence is most likely going to get busted.…

If that were the case, he'd have been obligated to disclose as much (or at least tag the post as #ad or #sponsored) in the post.

A lady from my area tried to piggy back on this case. She used an automated coffee machine to get hot water for her tea every morning in the cafeteria at her place of employment (if I named the company you'd all know it because they make basically all the name brands of everything). One day she failed to properly secure…

If tracking calories is what has worked for you in the past, why start worrying about sugar now? Sugar doesn't cause weight gain. Excess calories do.

Agreed. It also indicates that it is an issue of food preference, not addiction.
-
It only hurts your goals if it puts you over calories. Those are also treats that have a good mix of fat with sugar. Not just sugar.

At least it doesn't have any pregnant pauses.

That's just the flow of conversation.

In one week, I shall adhere to this new IIFYM for a full day.

Haha! With my sisters, it's not so much need for a hobby as need for knowing when to stay with friends. Dear internet, I'm not actually a character from Parks and Rec and I've never actually tracked this sort of thing but I do have really mean sisters.

If you're already eating an appropriate amount of calories and protein, eliminating certain foods from your diet won't get you any bonus points or cause your workouts to be more effective.

A caloric surplus isn't actually necessary for muscle building in novice/intermediate lifters, returning lifters, obese lifters... Pretty much anyone who has fat stores to draw from and isn't already an advanced lifter can build muscle with or without a surplus. Newbie gains (which occur far longer than most people think)…

I can't speak to studies done on it but my n=1 leads me to ask whether you have sisters. lol :#

For those who missed it, the bolded was tongue in cheek.

Addicts don't feel great avoiding substances they're dependent on. Not at all.

All food is real food. What foods do you classify as junk? Everyone has a different definition. Who doesn't consider it good for you? I consider all food just fine for me as long as they fit within a properly balanced diet and I enjoy them. What separates these "junk" foods from other foods to make them supposedly not good…
