I wouldn't let my 13 yo go to the mall by herself in our town. There have been shootings there and it's pretty much where the riffraff hang out. When she was 13 yo 6 years ago, I would go and let her walk around with a friend. It wasn't bad then. But not now. I agree that it depends on the maturity of your 13 yo and the…

"Regrets, I've had a few..." and for me the song stops there. I would say marrying the ex but there was a lot of good that came out of that. There's a lot I wish I could go back and do again with what I know now, but it was what it was. I didn't always do the best with what I knew at the time, but to me the important thing…

LOVE it! You da bomb!

When I'm alone and I have to lock the front door, I'm a little paranoid because I feel like someone is on the other side and is going to open it before I have a chance to get it locked.

EXACTLY why I don't watch that show. After the first season I decided it was just too warped and I'd really rather not know.

Thanks so much for asking this question. I have a toy hula hoop that I bought to exercise with. I didn't know that there was anything else. I have just ordered a real one. I'm going to find a kid to give my toy to. Thanks!

I like the internal changes that I've gone through the last few years. I like that I've learned to be so much less judgmental (working on being judgment free). If you knew how I grew up and the environment I lived in for 50 years, you would know what a HUGE accomplishment that is. I like that I try to see all sides of a…

Yeah! Not quite fair to open up the topic and not reveal yours!

I found this particularly interesting: "The protein/fat combination of increases satiety hormones -- the ones that tell your brain you are full. The protein in eggs also causes your body to release the hormone glucagon, which encourages your body to release and use stored carbohydrates and fat." Glad to know I can eat…

I guess because I don't know a lot about it and there's so many differing opinions. BUT, the main reason is probably because there are 5 g of fat in an egg and I am only allowed 30 g a day. I love eggs, but 4 eggs a day leaves me with little room for anything else I like that contains fat such as nuts and cheese.

I am inspired! This was awesome. Thanks so much. I have bookmarked this under several folders so I can keep coming back to it when I need a little inspiration.

The first thing I noticed is that he has a lot of eggs in his diet. I thought that was bad for you?

Wow! I started reading this because I saw someone else had posted here. Had to stop. Too, too much for a girl who hasn't been kissed in a very long time. But, back of the neck all the way down.

Here is a clean recipe: no granulated sugar, enriched flour, etc. http://www.thegraciouspantry.com/clean-eating-peach-cobbler/

LOL! ^^^ This! I do it so that I can get a day off later when I really want it.

LOTS of different opinions, most likely based on personal family dynamics, etc. Only you know how your mother would react to this and if it will be helpful or hurtful. Sometimes just writing it out and thinking it through can help you focus your thoughts so that you can discuss it with your mother calmly and rationally and…

uh oh. He's gone and done it now! I'm removing myself from this board!

I'm pretty good at this. I can usually look at a space and tell what will fit in it. For example, when my daughter moved I could tell how much of what she wanted to take could be packed in her car. WAY more than what she would have been able to pack on her own.
-
now that IS a secret talent. I don't think you ever told me that! you and my son have something in common!
-
Definitely keep it on the positive side.

I get this. I like to write letters when I have something important to say. I encourage my daughters to do this as well. You can think through everything you want to say. You can say it how you mean it to come out, without the emotional overtones. You can reread, edit, think it through. You can word it so that it doesn't…

Where is that daggone LIKE button when you need it???? :) Nice!

This!

I had a teacher who said this several times during every class. Very irritating.

My daughter does this. Drives me NUTS! I've also tried saying, "Yes, I know what you're saying." Doesn't work! :( And my son has started saying "Gotchya" to everything. UGH!

This is my question. What is the correct way to type y'all's? As in, y'all's stuff came in today. Two apostrophes just doesn't seem right somehow. Yes, I live in, but I'm not from, the south.

I LOVE sausage and maple syrup! I don't think it's strange at all.

Oh, and potato chips in any kind of sandwich, but especially good on a chicken salad sandwich.
