I just do it. I’m hardly going to back out of a meet just because it falls during my period (hello cycle day one being lifting day at worlds the last two years), so I don’t see why I would take it easy in training. I do notice my joints are extra wiggly the week prior and the first couple days, so I pay attention and will…

Make weight for every meet again this year. Finally crush the mental block on hitting a 95kg bench on the platform. Get every kg on the bar in capable of doing. Continue to be a positive role model for my daughters.

Back and pecs. And shoulders. And triceps. Grow little babies grow
-
Continue to keep kicking *kitten* at bench. Take every increase I can and keep having fun.

I have leggings and tanks from lulu that have lasted for years. I’m happy with the quality for the price.

Those safeties are meant to sit flush up against the uprights. There should not be room for the bar to skip between the two. But too many people don’t take the time to make sure the are flush in contact with each other. About the only reason why I would prefer an Eleiko rack over the er rack is the saddle that actually…

This is why I’ll happily keep training at my gym where one of the running jokes is that one of the competition racks is reserved for me. Grunting doesn’t bother me. 100kg+ being dropped doesn’t bother me. The hockey guys coming in after practise still stinky don’t bother me. Give me my bench and plates and I’m a happy…

Everyday is upper body day. Everyday is also leg day. Wouldn’t recommend my programs unless your goals match mine and you’ve built your volume tolerance up.

My federation requires flat feet. I have the mobility to pull my feet fairly far back and keep heels down. I keep my legs slightly wide, feet turned out. Gives me the best tension and directionality to my leg drive.

I adore my gym. Worth every penny and minute of travel time to and from. I pass 10+ gyms on my way there and none of them come even close. Even if I had the space at home, I’m not likely to invest in the competition grade equipment I’m used to. I still do basics like my prehab and correctives at home but that’s about it.

I’ll second this. Utterly amazing leggings, comfortablly high waisted. Mine are loose and still stay put no matter if it’s squats, deadlifts or bench.
-
If you’re coming out for nationals I’m sure we will run into each other then.

The women. John was far side with Linda as head ref. I was doing the paper scorecard.
-
That was you? I was on the table for the open meet.

I hit a weight class pr (I’ve benched 92.5 on the platform before but as an 84+), Wilks pr, and took silver on bodyweight - a whopping 80 gram difference in body weight. https://instagram.com/p/Bawo5qNHW_q/

Up to three hours, with 90 minutes to two hours being typical. How frequently I hit each lift and intensity depends on where I am in relation to a meet.
-
Doesn't happen often at my gym. The public shaming and burpee punishment are enough of a deterrent
-
It rarely ever happens for me. My major meet of the year the last two years has happened on day one and that didn't affect my strength at all. Made making weight more fun, but zero impact on strength levels.

I follow the program my coach writes for me.

Bench.
-
My arch just kinda happens when I focus on shoulder stability and overall getting tight. If anything, I focus on keeping it where I get maximal shoulder stability, not the highest arch.
-
Nope. I hurt myself in other interesting ways.

I train to have the biggest bench I can possibly have. I happen to like the aesthetics that come with it. All my health markers are pretty good as well.
-
Hi pretty pr! 96.5/212.75 for a pretty little single. Inching closer to the magic 100kg mark. https://instagram.com/p/BYyfrXBhYAv/

Yup. These ladies are awesome and amazing people. Powerlifters in general are pretty awesome. It should be you vs you - are you lifting with better technique/more weight/just generally enjoying the process?
-
Coffee and candy. Not willing to take a chance even with a third party tested preworkout. Or any supplement for that matter.
-
Whatever is needed. 45 minutes to 3+ hours.
-
Even if I had all the right equipment at home, I'd still prefer the gym. Awesome atmosphere, amazing knowledge bombs and lots of laughs.
-
I'll only hop on a spin bike if I'm feeling exceptionally tight and stiff. Otherwise it's just shoulder warmup for bench days and warm up sets.

Last 80kg from a 8680kg total volume training session. Super happy with how this moved although we are still playing. https://instagram.com/p/BXqceyoBjwt/
