Following this thread. I started doing Stronglifts more then a year and a half ago. Like you, I was ravenous and eating more but was making strength gains. However, I also gained 8 pounds over that time and had to size up in clothing. Since the new year I've started logging and am really trying to make sure I don't over…

I second the Target Reebok gloves suggestion. I have these also and they suit my purposes. Although now I've been lifting long enough that the bar no longer bother my hands. I still like to wear them for pull ups though. For my deadlifts I prefer using straps over the gloves.

As long as all of the bolts and pieces are present I don't see an issue with buying it used, especially if you get it for a really good price.

Honestly I think we have to remember this program was designed for men who are innately much stronger and can progress their weights faster. Don't beat yourself up if you stall at a weight. Whenever I stall at a weight I just stick with the weight and when I start feeling comfortable in my form after several sessions (and…

I weigh about 135 and about 2 months into SL I could deadlift 165 but keep in mind I had been working out with a personal trainer for a year prior to starting SL. Things that really helped me was one changing my shoes, I switched from typical running shoes to converse and I was amazed at how much more I could do with…

I've been doing stronglift since August. I'm mainly focused on building strength and not losing weight. I do strong lifts twice a week and an intense interval/strength session once a week with a personal trainer. I want to do more cardio but I notice that if I do any cardio on the in between days (even light activity like…

I usually work out in the evenings, often after the kids go to bed. On the weekends however I will bring my kids with their toys and iPads to the basement to keep them occupied while I work out. My 3 year old is actually pretty good about not interrupting me too much during a 30 minute workout. If you're looking to mix…

I need some protein powder now. Can't wait to try this

I did 30DS before ever finding MFP so wish I had done some formal before/after pictures. These are from more then a year ago but after having my second baby bought 30DS and dieted like crazy to try to get some weight off. First picture was taken maybe a month before I started dieting/exercising, second picture was after…

I'm netting about 1600-1700 calories and have gained 2 pounds also in my first month of Insanity. BUT I've lost 6 inches so far! So I think the weight gain is probably some water retention from the inflammation from the strenous cardio. I just started month 2, so I'm hoping some of the weight drops off this month. Heck if…

I was about 165 pounds when I decided to get serious about losing weight a year ago and my goal weight was 145 which was my prepregnancy weight. I hit my goal weight at the end of last summer but just with continuing to watch what I eat and sticking with exercise (I did Jillian Michaels 30ds and ri30 and am now going into…

What you need to do is make note of what time you get in the car and then remember how long you were driving, then you log the activity on the fitbit website as "Automobile or light truck driving". It will then discount any steps that were perceived during that time period.

I love my fitbit also. It's a great motivational tool to basically get me off my lazy butt. If my cup is empty I get up to fill it up myself instead of waiting for the hubby to get up and ask him to do it for me. On laundry days we use to have an agreement where I would fold and wash and put away all the clothes but my…

I second the suggestion for Jillian Michaels. After my second baby I did her 30 Day Shred, then moved on to Ripped in 30. I lost all of my baby weight and then some (while dieting at the same time.) I just finished my first week of Insanity and while it is very hard and challenging it wasn't nearly as terrifying as I…

I'm 5'4" and currently 136. Would love to be about 130 but as long as I get down to less then 135 I'll be happy

I just got a fitbit 2 days ago and I'm addicted. As far as riding in the car if you log the activity in the activity log it will discount any perceived "steps" during that time period
