  • Keep being strong
  • To loose weight a calorie deficit is need. To loose fat and maintain muscle mass you need to have a proper ratio of carbs, fat and protein. There is a big difference between loosing weight and loosing fat.
  • Feel free to add me. I've lost 50 plus pounds of fat and added about 30 lbs of muscle
  • Squats will definitely help so will lunges etc. I recommend reading the following articles that should help. If you never done weighted squats, it is good idea to get some training to make sure you do it right. http://getfit.jillianmichaels.com/butt-enhancing-exercises-1465.html…
  • Read this link http://www.mnn.com/food/healthy-eating/stories/what-are-net-carbs-and-how-to-calculate-them. Personally, I don't bother counting net carbs. I hope the link is informative.
  • I used them right before my cardio workouts and have noticed they help preserve my muscle mass and notice a difference in cardio performance.
  • I still track my food to keep myself honest. It also helps me with keeping my macros in the right proportions for my physical activity (strength and cardio training)
  • Viewed your pics. Excellent work. Keep it up.
  • It is ironic you ask for help but reject the help when people share their knowledge of the mistakes they made when they first started on the journey to loose fat. You more of less accuse people of thinking you are untruthful and an idiot. So, I say, continue on your path of getting negative results and when you are ready…
  • Weight fluctuate daily due to your level of hydration. Hydration levels can be affect by sodium, water intake and for other reasons. You will not gain two to three pounds of fat in a day because that would require a caloric excess of a minimum of 7000 calories. As you weight train, you will gain some muscle mass which is a…
  • Ashley try to hit your daily protein target to help preserve you muscle. Just eating fruit will not give you enough protein. Marco level of importance protein, fat then carbs. Make sure to take some vitamins to compensate for reduction in food intake.
  • You are looking a 7000 calories per week deficit to loose 2 lbs per week. I would recommend a macro ratio of 40% protein, 30% fat and 30% carbohydrates. That should put you around 120 grams of protein. It may seem high, but the goal is to loose fat not muscle. Try to keep you carbohydrates between 80 to 100 grams if you…
  • Strength and muscle mass are directly proportional because muscle is what give you strength. What you are really trying to achieve is to gain muscle and not fat. Too many people think of weight which is aggregate of fat, muscle bone and water. With that out of the way, determine if you want the large, medium, or slim…
  • Self-conscious can be hard daemon to fight. I lost fat and toned up but sometimes when I look at my stomach it still looks large when I know it is not. I've gotten better by realizing the tape measure and they way my clothes fit are the real truths of my progress. Keep up your good work your self-image will improve.
  • I lost 45lbs of fat fours years ago and been keeping it off and adding muscle mass. You can add me if you wish
  • More than likely you are seeing a combination of fat, muscle and water loss. To loose five pounds of fat within one week would require 17,500 caloric deficit which is 2,500 per day caloric deficit assuming 7 days.
  • The heat is not affecting the scale. What you are observing is water lost from the potatoes due evaporation. As the steam leave, you are witnessing water leaving the potatoes.
  • Mdamra you need to do some strength training combined with some cardio. Don't over do it on the cardio because it can negate the benefits of your strength training. It will take some time and dedication to pull off what you want to do.
  • Not a good idea to log it under cardio. It is not a cardio activity. Just don't worry about it.
  • Next to impossible to track. Heart rate monitors, etc are not designed to track this activity.
  • You may add me if you wish
  • You may add me if you wish
  • That will be unique to each individual. If you are working your muscle hard to gain mass, then it maybe skew towards protein but still needs some carbs to help fuel your workout. Running, carbs for energy but still needs protein for repairs etc.
  • Jessica, more than likely you are not burning a lot of calories during your exercise. You will probably not exceed 500 calories. They shouldn't be a need to consume additional calories. First, you need to determine how much fat you want to loose weekly. From that you will determine you caloric intake. One to one and half…
  • Continue your strength training but rebalance your diet by upping your protein level. Many people lose muscle and fat when they on calorie restriction diets. Protein builds, repair and maintain your muscle. So, make protein the core of your diet and adjust the carbs and fats to make the balance of calories. Feel free to…
  • There is no accurate to calculate it. HRM may give a better estimate but they can over and under estimate. As mentioned earlier, get the one that uses a chest strap.
  • HRM are designed around using your legs muscles when performing cardio activity to calculate calories burned. At best, it is only an estimate, given that the only parameters they normally ask for are age, sex, height and weight. They have to make a lot of assumptions therefore it is easier to limit it to the larger muscle…
  • 1--First, you will not bulk-up from lifting weights that is a common misconception about women bulking-up. Muscle burns energy (calories). Don't look at those body building women they are the extreme. 2-- Take you body measurement in conjunction with your weight. Why? When you lift weights you gain strength which means…
