I put my steaming hot baby potatoes on the scales to 160g, dished up everyone elses dinner and when I next look the scale said 150g
Do you think it was the heat affecting the scales or are my scales dodgy?

The heat is not affecting the scale. What you are observing is water lost from the potatoes due evaporation. As the steam leave, you are witnessing water leaving the potatoes.0

Ah that makes sense, thanks. I'll not be in such a rush to bung hot food on the scale in the future.0
