Maybe you could join a fitness class? I know I enjoy working out with others.

Actually you already have abs you were born with them. I'm leery of an 18 year old male doing drastic cuts. You are still growing and developing and I'd hate to mess with that.

A couple of chicken breasts are a better option for getting protein, but I do use Combat Powder to supplement protein because I'm too lazy to cook chicken breast. I don't normally use it when trying to lose weight. I want my calories to fill my stomach.

For me counting calories is the only thing that works. Every day I see green I know I lost weight.

I'm a extroverted former powerlifter with years of strength band training and I was nervous about going to the gym, but I wanted to stop stalling in my home training so I signed up a with a competent personal trainer at the local strongman gym. I started 5 months ago and have never been happier with an exercise program.

Can't disagree with that. I know I'm one of those hole 'know-it-all' wanna-be's. Why would you change a strategy that works for you? Has it stopped working?

You will be 3 weeks closer to your goals if you start today. You will look and feel better too.

These articles are not peer reviewed studies and do not do a good job of presenting research on the subject. The best answer I think is to find what works best for you and do that.

I only know what works for me. I am not as heavy as you, but I'm still a very big guy and I do strength training with a personal trainer(to keep me safe and accountable) You definitely can do that type of workout IMO. You might start with a the bar, but we all start somewhere. Nice thing about strength training is your…

I suggest stronglifts 5x5 it will give you great strong base and balance out all the cardio you've been doing making you a more well rounded athlete. The program is simple and full body. Start with the bar for every lift master the form so you don't hurt yourself. Resist the temptation to do higher reps. Don't skip squats…

No, Squats are the best thing you can do to make it look better.

Both. I do Chiseled from live exercise.com and I run. Love both. You'll be amazed at how fast the weight comes off when you do both properly. Be fast and strong is my motto.

I'm doing Couch to 5k and get similar soreness. Seems normal to me definitely nothing compared to a legit strength training workout.

Well done brother. Don't worry someday you'll need an XL for all the muscle you will pack on.

My mother is a big believer in washing food before you eat it, but me I like my peaches straight off the tree right there in the garden. I personally enjoy my fruit with yogurt and granola, but I do sometimes like to use cool whip to sweeten the mix.

You need a bulk to gain more muscle and at your level I think it's a good idea. Start adding some more high protein foods to your diet. I think this is all diet related now.

The differences are significant enough to really make a big difference besides a person who is fit will probably run faster and further in the same time as someone who isn't.
-
I'm sorry, but why did he put you at 1200 calories? That is normally way too low for a healthy active person. I suggest you run the numbers again.

Nine dollars isn't bad. You should also try out liveexercise.com. I've been using it for years and it has everything I need for my goals. If you like it it's only 6 dollars a month. A set of bands is pretty cheap too.

Fruits are good for you.

It's too long.

Ice Cream and Pop Tarts are bad because they have too much sugar in them. Many Americans consume inadequate protein and too much sugar. While you may not have a problem with them now. You need to understand that the majority of the population still has issues with optimal protein, fruit and vegetable consumption. Also…

Stronglifts is a strength training program that emphasizes compound lifts like squats, deadlifts, bench press with steady progressive overload. Functional training typically aims improvement for a sport or general daily activities. For example basketball players use a jumping machine to increase their vertical. Both are…

You've lost 7 lbs since October. You probably lost water weight at first so it will take a couple weeks for you to lose a bit more Weight is not the only way to measure progress and it is a very long term curve with high degrees of fluctuations. I suggest weighing daily after you wake up and then over time you can see your…

What if you guys worked out with your son?

I eat all the types of food I ate before I started losing weight. I just eat smaller portions. 2 slices is typically a meal unless its a big pizza and then it's 1 slice.
-
Beau Jo is the healthiest Pizza I've eaten and it's amazing. Unfortunately there isn't one in my area. Of course we have legit Italian Pizza down here. Avoid the fast food chains and go to a local place.

Get some yogurt and mix in some fruit and a little granola. Bacon is low carb and actually low calories. You could also do a small steak.

It's simple survival. Cows can turn grass into milk. Which means if you are hungry and you have a cow you can feed yourself by simply letting the cow graze. Milk has an excellent nutrient balance and the body does eventually adapt to the food you eat. In fact milk is one of the best post workout drinks you can have. No…

I understand your pain. It's tough to look in the mirror and not see the bodybuilder type body I had a couple years ago, but it's also important to remember the main reason to be at a healthy weight is so we can actually be around for our nephew's other big days. Keep at it and never buy into the lie that you aren't making…
