the only thing i have found that works is to flat out tell your friends thanks, but you are trying to work on you, and that you are choosing not to eat unhealthy things, and that you would appreciate it if they could respect you enough to not offer stuff like that to you and to try and help you realize your goals. real…

congrats on everything... being motivated is one of the hardest parts, or staying motivated... good luck to you... you can do it!:flowerforyou:

the one thing i find that fills me up the most is grapes, just a handful really actually fill me... also, laughing cow cheese wedges (35 calories a wedge) on some low fat wheat thins.. yummy... and satisfies the crunch desire i have sometimes.

they arent trying to get america healthy, they are trying to earn a buck, and I would bet $$ they are getting rich.... cant really fault them for that.. just the American people for buying into it the horrible advertising.

you can do it. put yourself and your health higher on your priority list. there are plenty of free or nearly free ways to get exercise. <insert nike slogan here>

Congrats! It is always good when you can hit smaller goals along the route to the big overall goal you have set. It helps keep you motivated and moving (at least for me). Keep it up and you will get there!

that is a hard one because your core is so important in nearly all exercises... talk to your doc who is doing the procedure... he/she should have some safe suggestions
-
do not let excuses get in the way of exercise... put it first, and keep it there... moderation for anything i eat

the people on this website know this already, this needs to be posted somewhere else, to those who havent figured it out yet.

congratulations! It is always good to see the scale number get smaller... and the fact that you feel better is even more important.... hopefully this success will keep you motivated for more success!

I one piece of advice I can give you is you have to really want change. If you do, then you can break the addiction. I have. It takes time, and willpower, but every day you eat healthy and not bad is one day closer to your body not craving those unhealthy choices. It has been 5 months now for me, but I found that after…

weight gain and loss if more of a gradual thing. It takes 3500 calories over your required to gain a pound, and 3500 calories under to lose a pound. Plus, peoples bodies have variations from day to day, hour to hour with regards to water, fluids, etc etc... so, if i got the jist of your question, you wont see changes…

welcome to MFP. This is a very useful website, and there are a lot of good folks around here that will be supportive. Just be true to yourself, work hard, and it will happen. YOU can do it, and we will all try to help :flowerforyou:

the fact that your LDL (bad cholesterol) is low is a good sign. you can try fish oil tablets to increase your HDL (good cholesterol) and exercise does wonders as well, and low triglycerides is a good thing. Sounds like a reasonable diet full of fresh veggies and lean meats, along with exercise, and if you want some fish…

exercise, exercise, and more exercise.

definitely keep the ones that are too small, but as you shrink out of the bigger ones donate them!

IMO.. yes, workout. If you make justifications or excuses not to this time it will only make it easier the next time and the next time. Keep in your routine, you will be glad you did when it is done :) Then relax and enjoy... its only 35 minutes, right?

welcome.... my suggestion to you is to try a myriad of different exercises until you find something you DO like. I have never been one for exercise myself, but i tried out just about everything at my gym i joined and finally found spinning... I am hooked (something i never thought I would say). The group classes are…

I am not a big fish eater unfortunately, but I do love salmon patties. You can buy salmon in pouches like tuna or in the can, but the stuff sold like tuna is all flesh, no bones or skin... take it, mix it with a few bread crumbs, an egg, some chopped celery, bell pepper, green onion, and form them into patties and brown on…

selling out? no, not really. It is an option. My only thought on that is that if you dont fix the issue it wont work long term. I have met a couple people who have had weight loss surgery, and years down the road they gained it all back.... why? well , probably because the didnt learn how to eat right, so once their weight…

the eating right is hard... at first. It is amazing, though, what you can teach yourself, and how after a few short months what you thought was so hard becomes much easier and almost second nature. Where was this site 10 years ago! LOL good luck to you!

i think the older you are the less elasticity your skin has, and the less it will shrink back.... and the faster you lose the less it will shrink back as well. keep the loss at 1-2 pounds a week and hope for "young skin". I have lost 48 so far, but i still have alot to go, so hoping i can not be to flabby when Im done…
