Correction - Saxenda is the same med as Victoza in a stronger dose, not Trulicity. Couldn't edit my message above. Sorry about that!

I took it in 2018 for a few months (53 YO). Went from 274 to 257, it stopped working, so I stopped. I oculd not take the whole dose becasue I have reactions to the buproprion; was able to take 3 of the 4 daily pills w/ only small side effects. 2 pills were no side effects, but no weight loss either.

Curious why your doc gave you Trulicity instead of Saxenda? Saxenda is a larger dose of the same medicine. I took Saxenda for awhile, but I stopped losing after a while, so my insurance took away their approval. Don't know if it stopped working or if the problem was on my end. I lost 35 lbs (255 down to 220) and have since…

You can make turkey sausage w/ ground turkey and seasonings. Plenty of recipes out there.

I used Zyban to quit smoking 22 years ago. I didn't lose weight, but I think it kept me form gaining because as soon as I finished my course, I gained 30 lbs pretty quickly, but I think that was also due to the quitting smoking. Only real side effect I had was these awful muscle spasms when I made it up to the final…

EDIT: sorry, misinterpreted the question. Nevermind!!!

They make caffeine free MD. You won't probably find it in a machine , though. You'd need to buy a six pack or 12 pack at the store. It's cheaper that way, too. before I cut out soda, I drank CF Diet MD. Yum, still miss it! Gave up sodas because they bloated me really badly and made me crave sugar (YMMV, I'm just saying…

In the US basically: jelly is made w/ just the juice of the fruit. Jam has the whole fruit in it, pureed up. Preserves/marmalade etc is when it has the chunky fruit in it. Not sure if you use pectin in jam or preserves like you do w/ jelly.

I hope that you get a good result form the testing. If not, TC is very treatable. I know how you feel, though. I was diagnosed w/ breast cancer 11 days ago.

Swimming is great exercise! I do water aerobics myself, but I want to take swimming lessons so I can swim laps, too. Anythign in the pool sis great for your joints. Good luck!

Cut up the apple and weigh it. multiply the ounces by 28.35 to convert to grams. Then look up "apples raw" in the database; you will see Apples raw without the asterisk (asterisk means it is a member-added item). That is the USDA amount. It has a 100 grams option, so if your apple is 87 grams, then you would choose .87…

I think you'd be better off putting your own recipes in the Recipe Builder. You can't see the ingredients of a product listed in the database AFAIK. Once you get the recipes in once, they will be listed in Recipes Under your Food, so you can just pick them from there to add to your diary.

If you toast the bread/muffin/whatever, the heat melts the PB and you can get away w/ using less. Well, I can. :) I like a thin coating more than big globs. Occasionally I will top it w/ a few thin slices of fruit (banana, apple, pear, etc). Instead of weighing the bread before and after, I weigh the jar before and after.…

I log my cardio but not my strength training. I do put a note in the box that I did it, but I don't consider the calories for it. My current lifting routine is not one that I would be burning a whole lot anyway, so i jsut consider them a bonus to help cover any overestimating on cardio I might do.

Yes, I took it for 10 days for my tennis elbow. Gained 7 lbs that did not go away after I finished the prescription. It had taken me 4 months to lose 8 lbs (this was when my menopause was really kicking in), and I gained 7 of them back in 10 lousy days!!! Even worse was it didn't even help. I had to get a cortisone shot at…

We're having an Easter party next week. We got to vote on the food, pizza or subs. Everyone except me voted for pizza. :( If it was good pizza, I'd be OK w/ one slice and bring my own salad, but they always get Dominoes - blech!

Suggestion on the banana in case you don't want to use a whole one at once: don't peel it; cut it in half crosswise, rub the cut end of the half you're not using right away w/ lemon juice (if you want, if not just slice the little brown bit off when you use it), put that half in a ziploc and toss in the fridge. It will…

If you don't like using Pam, you can also use oil in a Misto sprayer. More calories, but way less than frying.

There was another thread here about a report that the calorie count was wrong. It's like double what's on the carton.

You can use almond or soy milk in place of the skim milk.

I jsut went on a 5 night cruise the week of Labor Day, plus we spent 2 extra days in Ft Lauderdale pre-cuise. My rule was any time I was going to get food, I had to take the stairs (although we took the stairs 80% of the time anyway). I had bread and dessert every night plus a taste of dessert at most lunches. My plan was…

The juice is probalby a diet "juice" w/ Splenda or nutrasweet. I know there is an Ocean Spray diet cranberry juice. It's really juice cocktail, not 100% juice.

Go under My Home, click on Settings, then choose Diary Settings. There are drop down boxes for each of the categories. On the Sugar one, change it to none.

The only chocolate I allow myself to have is homemade chocolate milk (skim milk w/ a little bit of Hershey's syrup) or low cal hot chocolate (from a puch). Any other chocolate I eat sends me into a big tailspin, and I will eat and eat until I'm sick. I cna't have the milk or cocoa too often or it will do the same, so I…

From what I understand, machines are not the best for abs. You want to do stuf like planks and such to work your whole core instead.

If you can spare $20, Walmart has an adjustable dumbell set, goes all the way up to 40 lbs I believe. I've been debating getting it myself as it takes up less room than individual dumbells.

The package should tell you how many grams are in a serving. Is a serving two tablespoons? If it is, the nutrition info should say Serving Size 2 table spoons (XX g which is the number of grams). Another option is to add your own entry to the food database using the info on the package for two tablespoons.

Most packaged stuff has the amount of grams per serving. So, it may say 10 pretzels, but in parentheses it might say 30g. A lot of stuff in the food section has gram weights. For apples, look for "apples, raw with skin". Select the 100 grams one. If your apples weighed 147 grams, then you would put in 1.47 servings of…
