I walk around the house if I haven't met my step goal for the day. I don't think it's cheating at all, I am moving and that is the important part. Sometimes I'm marching in place for an hour - you bet I'm counting that!

Hello, I'm new to the group. I turned 51 in September, have 3 children ages 23, 15, and 12. Live in Washington State and work as an oncology nurse. Shrinkbaby and AnnPT77! you two are an inspiration!!!! I joined MFP back in 2012 - ended up losing almost 30lbs! Stress at work helped me do that. It came so easy for me that I…

New to the group, but would love to lose 7lbs by January 1st. Actually a lot more, but gotta start somewhere. I need some motivation, focus, determination. Lol, used to be so much easier.

I'm hoping for some good results. Just have to keep at it. Trying to cut carbs down from my usual diet is tricky, but I'm slowly working on it. Fast day today, lots of water!!!!!

I'm in! I have a fitbit Alta and I do try to get 10k a day. Not always successful, just trying to keep moving. Somedays I get 2.5k. I have been told that my body is "riddled with arthritis" and I have some autoimmune thing going on. Some days i feel half way decent, other days every joint in my body hurts. I am 50 years…

Just starting this type of diet. The recipes that I have found so far look good. Haven't tried any yet, just started yesterday on a fasting day.

Hello everyone! I just started yesterday the 2 day diabetic diet. 2 days of fasting under 650 calories and then eating healthy the other 5 days. Yesterday had a day of approx 570 calories, and lots of water. I lost almost 30 lbs 2 years ago, this last 9 months have been hard as I dropped back into old habits. I am not a…

Love reading about you all. Too new to remember names, lol. It seems that every time I go to the docs office, they shrink me. Gets depressing, lol. Started off (in my head) being 5'3", now - 2 years ago- 5'1 3/4" . Afraid to get measured again! Ordered a food scale, should be here in the next couple of days - thanks for…

Do you all use a food scale? I don't have one and was thinking of getting one. I "eyeball" my portions. I do use a measuring cup for the things I can. Thanks for the comments about my pic. His name was Reagan - a Bernese Mountain Dog. He died last June at the young age of 5. I just can't change my picture yet. He was such…

I am so impressed by this group of people. I have joined groups that just seem to disappear and no one is on. The motivation, support and encouragement here is awesome, so thank you all! I am trying to be consistent in my efforts, with yoga and pilates. Pilates I think is the cruelest thing! So important but kicks my butt.…

New to page, but desperately looking for some motivation and encouragement. I turned 50 last September and have noticed that my body is changing but not in the ways I was planning on. :( I do great with my eating while at work, then I get home and it's like all bets are off. Frustrating. I am on my feet all day at work,…

My blessing of the day - I have been having some heart ache over my children and the sadness that they are seeing in their friends at school. Worried about the impact it will have on my youngest and how to help her through her this trying time in her life, I have found such a wonderful support in the Church and the EDGE…

I love hearing about all these saints. It shines love and hope on this world. Thank you!

Good morning yellowantphil. I guess your musing would depend greatly on the type of religious "order" you are "musing" about. Active or contemplative religious life? I would think that the contemplative life would be Monks that have a life of daily prayer and contemplation while serving their community. Interesting…

Is this group active? I just started Paleo, on Day 5 in the am and would love some support :)

I'm 49. Started myfitnesspal over a year ago - lost over 20lbs - got cockey thinking "I've got this down". Stopped logging and guess what? Yep, gained a few lbs back. Frustrated at myself. Just started logging again a few days ago. Need the accountability and motivation to keep going. Please feel free to add me - we are on…

Take it one day at a time. Having health issues can certainly change how active we are and depression makes it all worse. Feel free to add me, I can certainly be there to help.

I need all the help I can get too! Add me :)

I'm right where you are. Did great for a while, lost almost 30lbs, then got lazy. I have gained about 5lbs back. Eating better, but weight is staying up. Not as easy this time. Scary to gain the weight back. Feel free to add me if you would like some extra motivation!
