There's really no pressure to run with the group. the point is to train and raise money. don't let the word "pack" scare you! its really not what it's about (except for the people who need the pack to get off the couch ;o)

I did it in 2011! I didn't do one training run with the local team, but I met a few of them on race day. it was totally cool, and I raised over $3600, and won the grand prize as the top fundraiser! it was awesome :o) HAVE FUN! I'm not doing it again for a while bc a) I want to wait a while b4 I ask everyone for money again…

my best advice for going raw is to keep it simple. avoid fancy raw recipes that use 5 different kinds of nuts or seeds and tons of other stuff. it's fine once in a while, but for every day it's just too complicated and can be hard to digest. also, don't depend too much on dehydrated items. it can leave YOU dehydrated.…

I dress my salads with lemon juice or balsamic vinegar (1 TB per approx. 150 grams of mixed green lettuces) 8g nutritional yeast and a sprinkle of fancy lavender salt. I used to use olive oil, but it wasn't fitting my macros. I didn't want to give up healthy whole foods like nuts, seeds and avocado so I gradually reduced…

me too. not just bright red. BLOTCHY bright purpley-red. I once read that a cold, wet cloth at the back of the neck could help...but I had already stopped caring and never tried. thank you HypersonicFit for posting that picture!!! totally awesome! I don't have any experience with the sweat-dust issue, but maybe a routine…

I haven't tried yet, but there are tons of recipes online for making your own seitan/fake meats. I'm pretty sure using homemade stock from veggies trimmings and vital wheat gluten flour are so much cheaper than the store-bought wheat-meats. plus, you can control the amount of fat and sodium. this is the recipe i keep…

nothing is going to replace an egg exactly...you've got to keep an open mind! ground flax, about a Tbl mixed with 1/4-1/3 cup water for each egg (allow a few minutes to thicken and chill in fridge) usually works well in breads and cakes. a product called ener-g egg replacer works better than flax in pancakes, and tofu is…

if your energy is good and you can easily achieve the 40:30:30 then I would keep doing that if I were you. I'm not a fitness expert but I also know enough to know that even fitness experts aren't necessarily experts on you! the 2000 calorie goal may work on paper for you, but if you're really too full I wouldn't force it…

figured another bunny had to reply! what's your definition of eating clean? are you meeting ALL your nutritional needs? it would help to see your diary...perhaps you're missing something that could help keep cravings under control.

just noticed the op's account is de-activated.

hmmm...flour doesn't rise on its own. and I don't see how banana and chocolate chips would help in that department. I hate to be a party pooper, but i think i gotta call b.s.

I can! i started working on them at age 40 and on a good day I can do sets of 2 pull-ups and sets of up to 3 chin-ups. on a bad day I jump and just practice negatives.
-
I would experiment with a tiny bit (1 tsp-1 TB) apple cider vinegar. it reacts with baking soda to help rise.

i'm usually un-moved by guy's stories, but you made me laugh and almost cry. i'm happy for you dude, you look awesome.

Just some friendly advice, from personal experience: 1) keep it simple! 2) don't dehydrate everything! 3) if you're cold, use ginger, cayenne, hot chiles, etc. 4) if you're struggling and craving cooked or baked food, just make some brown rice, quinoa or lentils...and serve with raw veggies. (It's super healthy, and better…

Tofu, tempeh, seitan, lentils, back beans, hemp seeds, and sprouted rice, hemp and pea protein powders. No lactose in any of these favorites.
-
My basic plan is pretty simple: Breakfast is fruit with some or all of the following: grain, nuts, seeds, protein powder etc. or sprouted toast with nut/seed butters Lunch is usually kale salad or veggies Dinner is always a big green salad, maybe half an avocado, protein (tofu, beans, lentils, seitan etc) whole grains and…

How can people NOT plan?! If you just log what you ATE, you're probably not going to hit nutrition goals...and who knows how many calories you're eating? Could be way over, could be way under! I usually plan/pre-log, so I can make smart choices. And I always try to have at least some idea of what my next few days look…

I'm a petite little pear at only 5'2" and weigh 99 lbs - 34.5 hips, 24 ish waist, 18 thighs (30 bust) people think I'm tiny, and i always take the smallest sizes and have to taylor them in the waist. Hope that gives you a realistic perspective.

Mistakes are awesome! That's how we learn...perhaps you can take from this experience that it is totally ok to ask questions when you order, and make requests. They may or may not be accommodated but it really is okay to ask. (nicely, of course). If nothing else, it might make the restaurant consider having vegan options…

I eat between 1550-1800+ cals a day, but I focus more on meeting my nutritional needs...macros (50:25:25 c:p:f) AND micros, and i try to keep my sugar low, geting it mostly from fruit. I am working to lower my body fat percentage (down to 18ish % now) and build muscle. My diary is open to friends, so add me if you like.…

5 TB oil, plus MORE oil, pinenuts AND cheese?! Are you all working on your "before" photos, or what?!

Organic eggs just means the hens are fed organic grains. All those cheap eggs are from hens kept in cruel, unhealthy and disgusting conditions and have had their beaks chopped off with no painkillers (which is the equivalent of chopping a finger off a human baby) Chickens are meant to eat bugs, outside. Where I live, a…

I looked at several days of your diary and saw lots of processed foods, many with no nutrient value, and not one green leafy vegetable. I would expect to be hungry and sick eating this way.
-
Hey ladies! I am up to TWO consecutive pull-ups and THREE consecutive chin-ups!!!
-
I enjoy a delicious variety of plant-based, mostly whole foods...i get most of my sugar from fruit, and I use very little oil. Right now my macros are set at 50:25:25 (c:p:f) because i've found that its enough protein for me to build muscle, and my energy is great. I also focus on making sure I meet all my nutritional…

My best advice is to tune out anybody who isn't being supportive! Ive been vegan for about 7 years, and it gets easier. Don't worry about the vegan police either...just transition slowly and have as much compassion for yourself as you do for animals. I take a b12 supplement, but other than that my advice is to eat your…
