My friend Chad (5th before and after pic on the DDPYOGA website) studied with DDP while he was out here in Cali. DDP has since moved back to Atlanta. Chad absolutely loved it and I am looking into buying it. So, no I haven't tried it...but from a guy that has his pics on the site and is a personal friend who still…

Stronglifts 5x5 - but very similar to Starting Strength - google them! 2 sets of workouts - 5 sets, 5 reps (except for deadlifts) Workout A Squats 5x5 Bench Press 5x5 Pendlay Rows 5x5 Workout B Squats 5x5 Overhead Press 5x5 Deadlift 1x5 The idea is that you start out at 45lbs (for ladies except deadlift...start heavier)…

Hey everyone! I wasn't trying to be exclusionary. It's just that - when I have friends - I want to keep up with them - so I don't want to add a ton of people and then not be able to truly give the kind of support that I would like to have. So that's why I made the window so narrow...since it's such a big site. LOVE AND…

I hear you! Congrats on the 15! It's taking me forever this time...I think it's age and too much dieting! But I'm determined :) We can do it! I hear slow and steady wins the race....i want to win the race and never enter it again! lol ;)

I just started Stronglifts 5x5...and aside from my quads (that I think are catching up to my hamstrings and glutes), I experienced no soreness. And the quad soreness was significantly less on the 2nd workout...so I think by the 3rd, it will be gone. I happen to like the soreness...makes me feel accomplished and actually…

LOL- Thanks...I just responded to her about an hour ago to ask what her original TDEE was based on! Cheers!

I returned my FitBit...wasn't so impressed with it. I've been using my HRM and deducting what I would be burning at rest (my BMR calories) for workouts but I just curious to see about my TDEE. I'm going to give it a try.
-
I just posted about this and am curious as to it's accuracy. When you say it matches your TDEE....what did you use previously to calculate your TDEE?? A BMF or FitBit or just estimate?

Total Daily Energy Expenditure....in other words....total calories burned in one day :)

Thanks everyone. I'm investigating a gym in a couple hours so I will check out what they have while doing my first workout there. I check out a second gym on Monday. I'll join the group mandasimba! Thanks :) Hopefully one or both gyms will have a women's bar. I just got back from a doctor's appointment where I was given…

Rowing IS NOT an upper body sport - this is a misconception. 60% legs, 20% core, 20% arms. When you finish - you should feel the burn in your glutes and hamstrings, NOT in your back or arms! I take Indo-Row Classes (as seen on Biggest Loser) from coaches from the UCLA rowing team (former rowers themselves.)…

Sorry love, part of a group I'm in...Fuel the Machine. It's closed so that may be why. Refers to www.leangains.com and Mark's Daily Apple. But the basic concept is that which was already stated...16/8, 17/7....other sites give more detailed info :)
