I can't even begin to say how awesome this post is!! I'm from CO too but live in AZ now. It has just become one of my goals to climb a 14! Your bass is amazing and I can't imagine how awesome you guys sounded on top!! Inspiring story - one I know I will look back on frequently to stay focused. Good for you - keep it up!

I want to join this thread but I wonder - how do you keep up? It seems a little overwhelming. Help?

I'm an in the middle of this chaos also!!! Seems like I spend my time trying to figure out what my body is doing than anything else! Mood swings and emotions and weight that refuses to go away! And cycles that may or may not happen - or maybe just all the symptoms and then - psych! gotcha! Nothing.

I'll be 50 this month and am finally serious about getting my health/life back. I know that it is possible....some days more than others. I try to remember something I read on MFP - Discipline and not Desire determine your Destiny.

Great job!!! I sent you a friend request. I'm just at the beginning of my 'for real' weight loss journey.

Incorporate fermented foods into your diet. Here is a link to a pretty good article about healing leaky gut. https://chriskresser.com/9-steps-to-perfect-health-5-heal-your-gut/

You can do this. Two things that have always tripped me up...and I have years and years of tripping!! I want to change everything and change it NOW and I want to see immediate results!! Well - the first is setting me up for failure and the second is just not reality. Once I accepted this...and please understand - I'm still…

Your ice pack should hold unless you open and close your cooler a lot before lunch time. Also - Some lunch items can be frozen and will aid in keeping other items cool. It is also helpful to keep your lunch box in a shaded part of your vehicle. **I'm thinking of the ice packs that are fairly large (like a 4x6) and not…

I love to be outside. Enjoying every minute before summer hits the desert and it's too hot to be out.

It's a small Sunday victory - but I did stand the whole song service at church. We sing a lot - so that is saying something!! Then did my grocery shopping so Sunday was actually pretty active!

On it!

Submitted my form and am looking forward to this boot camp. Already my steps on my Fitbit the last two days have been higher than the previous average.

I will walk around the cul-de-sac during commercials in the evening. This is a good starting place as most evenings once we get home there is little movement. I need to figure out how to move more at work. Our office is very small and the restroom is a whole 15 steps from where I sit.

At 49 I've just begun learning this same lesson. You put it perfectly - thank you!

Mine is off and on. One thing I've noticed is that if I am working out consistently my periods or very light if at all. If I am not exercising - oh my goodness!! - I'm afraid to stand up for fear of gushing. (sorry - tmi!!) I wish my body would just wrap up this whole thing and move on :)
-
Just do the next right thing.

I hope to be able to hike someday! Before I gained so much weight we hiked a lot. My dream bucket list would be to some of the Appalachian trail.

I loved this book and the insight Lysa provided.
