The best quote I ever heard was "We are all on a diet from the day we were born. It order to lose weight or get healthy you just have to adjust that diet." I firmly believe this and try to eat as healthy as I can. It doesn't always work as chips tend to enter my diet here and there as well as other junk food, but I still…

Go to find members and put in Helloitsdan. He's got a ton of information about this stuff and it's really helpful.

Try strength training...lifting weights builds muscle, tones you and helps burn some fat....you'll see a difference in about 2 weeks.

I do that when I go shopping (both clothing and food)...I don't need it I just want it...so put it back. Only treat myself once in while...like yesterday to some new shirts (b-day present to me).

I'm sorry to hear of your losses over the past few months. I wasn't in quite the same situation, but my ex-boyfriend died several years ago and I fell into a depression thinking there should have been something I could do to prevent this. Anyways, during that time I slept a ton, ate very little, and terribly...in the end I…

I actually knew an older woman who drank at least a liter of coke a day or more for at least 50 years...her teeth looked like smokers teeth...so it really does rot your teeth. Anyways, I'm not fond of the taste of water either, but I force myself to drink it. Sometimes when I crave sweet I add gatorade mix to the water. My…

Just remember to up your protein intake for that day. The miniumum weight for donating is 110lb, and they will take your iron count...if that's too low then you won't be able to donate.

Let's get this party started...I'm there. Going to start ASAP on this challenge.

Great job so far,,,,glad to hear this didn't mak eyou wan tto quit, but made you want to keep going to bring your levels down more....the glucose is normal at 90. I wouldn't aim for lower since the normal range is usually somewhere between 80-120 depending from lab to lab.
-
Being on a diet shouldn't affect your ability to donate blood. Just make sure to have protein for breakfast that day as they usually check your iron levels, if that's too low you won't be able to donate. As long as your weight is above 110lbs, you're not on any medication that won't allow you to donate, or traveled to any…

Better late than never. RIght? I was told to keep up with the cardio and walking I've been doing and to check out www.stronglift.com for help on how to lift weights, burn fat and get toned. I believe the guy who owns strong lifts is allowing free downloads of the lifts right now. Check it out and see if it helps you out…

You are an inspiration. I am definately getting the DVD on my way home tonight. If the walmart near me doesn't have it I'll order it. Can't wait to start. Plus I'm joining a gym for the aquatic workouts...love those...feel the burn without sweating....awesome.

You can reset your carbs, protein etc in goals. Switch carbs to 40%, protein to 30% and you'll see a big difference.
-
Keep with it and don't quite now. I know how you feel with not losing weight. I'm just about to join a gym myself so that I can gain some exercise knowledge from people who know what they're doing. When it comes to eating lots of sugar and carbs the only time that's ok is early morning when you have a big day of exercise.…

I understand exactly what you guys are going through. I got CFS over 16 years ago when i was in high school. I went from an overly active teenager to one who fell asleep doing homework and slept 14-18hrs a night. My grades definately slipped that last year of high school and I had a hard time adjusting to college. In fact…

Start slow. Try walking for 30-60 minutes every day with weights (ankle or hand weights) then slowly start adding in other types of cardio for only 15-30 minutes at a time. Make sure to do strength training as well. The best person to talk to about this is Helloitsdan...go to his page and he has tons of great advise.
-
Thanks for the tip. I'm going to try to do this plus crunches, lift weights, etc. as well.
-
Hey guys, I too am a fellow CSF patient. I got at about 16 yrs old after going to Ireland for a month. We got lucky with getting diagnosed quickly since a family friend had been diagnosed only a year or two before me. I had to go through a ton of testing at a local CFS clinic in NJ and finally was told yes you do have CFS…

I do lift weights, just not regularly. I will check out his program at www.stronglifts.com. IN the mean time...I get that 1200 calories is too little, but should I be aiming for 1303 or 1563 calories or something else? COnfused.

Sorry...exercise: I try to walk 5 days a week during lunch hour for 30 minutes. I do several stand up exercises while at work (leg lifts, standing crunches, etc.). I'm trying to bike ride at least 1-3x/ week (so far saturday and monday recently). I plan on playing frisbee golf at least 2-3x.week as well as kayak either on…

I'm shorter too at 5'1.5" and weigh ~135 +/- 2lbs. My ideal weigh is between 110 - 115lbs and right now my goal is to get to 115lbs. I hope to get back into a size 4-6 in US...currently in 10's mainly but a few 8's and medium - large tops (bigger boobs as well...luckily they don't really chance size no matter what I weigh).

Tell myself to stop being lazy and get up or outside to do something active. I'm thinking about joining a gym so I'm currently doing the 14 day trial period. Also think about how I looked and felt when I weighed less (although half of that time was before I got Chronic Fatigue Syndrome).

Thanks for posting...just checked it out and I won't be doing any juice cleanses ever....
-
Well I'm not sure about the juice fast, but the cleansing to get rid of all the toxins, etc in my body. I'd like to start getting healthy from inside out. I am trying to eat clean, although I have slipups like everyone else...more fruit, veggies, etc.
