  • Agreed :) I am a massage therapist in training and also a distance runner (1/2 marathon, although I'm not currently training)...I wore my heart rate monitor to a 5 client session at my internship (back to back, moderate to deep tissue work, including changing over tables, walking around clinic etc) over 6 hours, my heart…

  • Hey All :) My name is Laura- I'm 35 yr old mom of 2, wife of 1....5' 11" tall and 160lbs. I"ve been working out 5x a week (running, circuit training/Jillian Michaels & yoga), and apparently undereating....in my last 30 days of tracking I've only netted over 1500cals 6-7x which is apparently- BAD, BAD, BAD as my BMR is…
  • Question for those who started out lower cal and then upped.... :) My bmr is 1500 (I'm 5' 11", 160lbs) and given my workouts and lifestyle I've determined tdee is roughly 2200. However with my intermittent juice fasting my net has been closer to a 1300 average. Obviously I need to change this.... But unsure how to properly…
  • I've had some higher cal days that have 'spiked' my weight so I'd probably rather get it over with....just wondering if I should go to deficit or maintenance first....
  • Good to hear! For me, NMTZ is the best at-home full body workout I've ever done -and I just purchased BFBM to alternate. :)
  • Agreed- I can't believe that anyone would do any of JM workouts and call them 'easy'- certainly they vary in intensity, but I think its all about how much you put into it.
  • I've got about 9 to go (17 total, 10 left)- holymoley its hard, these last 10 lbs. I've stalled and started eating more but it didn't work for me (all I did was slightly gain over 2-3 weeks time). So now I'm eating 1550 per day, exercising 6 days a week and thinking of starting Jillian Michaels "Body Revolution" to give my…
  • Love this thread!!!! Thanks so much to all who have shared pictures- beautiful, strong, fit bodies are the best!! :) I'm currently 5' 11"- SW 168, CW 160, GW 150 After DS was born 4.5 years ago, I weighed 205 and with diet & exercise I lost 45 pounds. Over time, weight crept up 8-9lbs, and so I just lost those extra pounds…
  • Well, I can't take the scary factor out of it- it is intimidating, but having done it I can say its doable. Juices are very filling/satisfying & provide enormous energy- so its nothing like a water fast!!! Plus you drink a lot of water & herbal tea, plus plan on juicing 4x and know you can emergency raw veggies/fruit if…
  • What profoundly rude people we have here... To OP, yes, I'm juicing!!!!!! I'm currently on Day 2 of my 5/5/5 reboot, round 2. I did this last month- juicing 2x a day and eating a lean protein dinner. This time, I'm doing the 2 meals a day w/ lean dinner for 5 days, all juice for 5 days, and then a repeat of dinner w/ 2…
  • Thanks for your thoughts :) Total vanity here as well- mirror & running vanity. I'm ready to carry less fat when I run, hence increased speed!!! Plus, I'm a size 10, so by no means 'skinny'. I'm fit & strong and proud, but have decided not to be satisfied w/ 'good enough' any more. Since kiddos, I haven't been below 160…
  • I'm 5' 11"- current weight is 161 (size 10) and goal weight is 150 (size 6/8) .
  • Well clearly at some point in time, I DIDN'T have an issue eating enough- LOL. Right now, everything I"m hungry for (soups, raw foods, lean fish/chicken and juiced veggies) is not exactly working for me RE having enough calories. :) i think I'm that lady who has been eating 1200 calories for too long and screwed up her…
  • This is how I feel, except I'm in the distance runner category not a gym rat (all my cross training is done here at home- plus pilates/yoga etc). :) The ONLY time I saw weight loss while running was when half marathon mileage peaked w/ long runs of 9-11 miles.... otherwise, it looks perfect on paper- but it DOESN'T WORK RE…
  • RE nuts, I try to steer away from them due to having the herpes simplex (cold sore) virus that responds negatively to food high in arganine...but also taking lysine which helps keep things in balance. Right now I'm one of those people who gained weight by being 'hungry' but now that its time to lose it, I'm just not hungry…
  • Sorry- not BMR... I meant TDEE :) BMR is around 1500, plus 400 for not laying in bed all day. :)
