  • Bryan, this is what I find depressing. I used MFP religiously a few years ago and lost over 20 lbs. But as soon as I stopped using it and ate what I thought was 'well', the weight started creeping back on. It's sad to think that I may have to keep weighing food and logging for the rest of my life so as not to yo-yo up and…
  • Wine. And beer. And bread with real butter.
  • Hi all, I'm Emily. I'm 5 ft 7 and a round (feels like literally...) 150 lbs. I lost over 20 lbs a few years ago and was so proud, but I'm now actually heavier than I was before that. At my biggest I was 160 lbs though so at least I'm not back there. Restarted boot camp sessions just over a month ago and am doing three…
  • I've been low-carbing and eating higher levels of protein and fat for a year, and my triglycerides and LDL levels have both gone up. So you can't really state that "you will have...improved cholesterol levels, and improved blood triglyceride levels with this diet" - it might have worked for you, but it's definitely not for…
  • Just bumping to see if anyone else has any suggestions. Like I said, I make my own dressing so that's not an issue for me. It's more ketchup, BBQ sauce for pulled pork (and I have seen some sugar free ones on Wal-mart's website so I'm sure they do exist), and recommendations for liquid smoke as I don't think I've ever seen…
  • Thanks for your reply. I normally make my own salad dressings, but things like tomato sauce and BBQ sauce are so laden with sugar that I don't tend to buy them. I miss them though!
  • Bumpety bump bump...anyone have any favourites of these products? Unsweetened apple sauce Sugar free BBQ sauce Liquid smoke Thanks
  • I'm doing well too, been on here for 10 weeks and have lost 17lbs! Not got a lot left now, I might re-evaluate my goal because I think if I lose another 6lbs I might look a bit gaunt. Whoop whoop!
  • Really sorry to hear this :frown:
  • Me! I'm doing Charles Clark so trying to stay under 60g a day. He allows one slice of good wholemeal bread a day so that's a relief. It's quite flexible so feels like it will be easier to stick to.
  • My cat is a big white and black needy boy called Barry. His full name is Barry Maurice Lionel. He's the cuddliest thing I've ever met, always wants to lie on my lap or on my belly. He will actually climb up my leg for cuddles.
  • Oooh, where did you hear about this? I went there the other week - the brisket was soooo good!
  • Just stick with it and do the modified ones for as long as you can. Like she says, if you need to, take a 5 second break and then keep going. The thing I found with 30DS is that just by sticking with it, you'll be surprised what you can do that you couldn't a few days earlier.
  • I've been told by someone who has been low-carbing for three years (following Charles Clark) that you don't need to worry as much about your calorie count when you're eating this way. As long as you feel alright then go by your body.
  • Just be careful with some of these - pineapple and cashew nuts are both high in carbs, and beef in ale would possibly have to be beef in red wine instead.
  • Last night I made baked fish with garlic mayo and parmesan and had it with roasted red peppers and cherry tomatoes (with garlic, chili and basil), fried courgette and wilted spinach. Didn't miss carbs at all! Spaghetti bolognese - replace spaghetti with roasted red peppers?
  • That's amazing, well done!
  • I'm also trying out low-carbing this week so sadly no potatoes! I was thinking of making a pea and ham soup - I've just checked the carbs for petit pois (which is what I've got in the freezer) and it says 6g/100g but someone mentioned that peas are high in carbs so now I'm confused!
  • Hello there! I saw the same thread and was pointed in this direction. I've been into cooking for years, thanks to my dad (who was a chef at a family-owned restaurant in his younger years) - was helping him make choux pastry at the age of 10, which I suppose says it all! Over the weekend I made glazed gammon so now have a…
  • That some of my favourite clothes no longer fit me properly!
  • Bumping to read when I get home.
  • Sadly this is easier said than done for a lot of people - for me it's needed counselling, and I still struggle sometimes.
  • This is my mum. She's never given emotional support, but she's always been there practically, and done things for us to show that she cares. I try and think about that instead of being angry, but sometimes it's hard when you read interviews with famous (or regular) people talking about how close they are to their mum and…
  • Just thought of yet another one! I went to a Body combat class last night, for only the second time. The first time I went (this was months ago) I really struggled to keep up and felt like I was going to pass out at one point - last night I kept up throughout the whole class and even managed to do kicks that I couldn't do…
  • Oh god, completely forgot my main one - finishing 30 Day Shred last Friday
  • This one made me laugh. Mine are 1) being able to zip up my old winter coat, which I've been wearing unzipped for the past three winters, and 2) the "big" clothes I bought last year and all too big for me now, and I can fit into most of my old "small" wardrobe. Oh, just thought of another one - I look in the mirror and see…
  • Aah, that all makes sense! Good point. I'm back in the gym tonight so will soon undo all the damage I did over the weekend
  • Touché!
  • It's from the 60s/70s (?) so probably not. Unless you like your cast excessively hirsute.
  • You've got me. But is your national film a soft-porn called "I'm curious yellow"?
