  • Just rejoined today - hoping to hone my diet in and finally get that BQ.... I'm definitely not a sub 3 - going for <3:30. Would love to know what your daily diet is like!
  • I play with my 1st Graders all the time at recess - good way to get your heart rate up! :)
  • t-88 days here! eeks!
  • Hi all - just got my first heart rate monitor and I am SO excited about starting to use it! I've set it up but can't seem to find (not even in the manual!) how you 'start' keeping track of calories burned during a workout. It is a Timex Ironman if anyone else has it or similar model... help! I want to use it when I run…
  • What a great episode! Between the cake and the two full tables... I used to like D, but after the first half of the show - I wanted him gone over Kelly! Props to the girls, they kicked some serious rear end!
  • Thanks for this - I found this article on WH also... although the water one still has me puzzled. Jillian from Biggest Loser talked about it last night - something along the lines of "you might feel hungry, but you're really just dehydrated." http://www.womenshealthmag.com/nutrition/nutrition-myths-0
  • Hi all... I'm back to where I started and very upset about it :( I was housesitting for the week so I couldn't cook - aka I ate take out every night :( I had a Lean Cuisine for lunch, but it still didn't seem to make a difference. I had lost 3 lbs, and now i'm back to my start weight. I know it's only a few pounds, but on…
  • I'm on vacation for a week and I went over to the nearest LA Fitness - a week pass was only $40, so if you go 5 times, that's only $8/time - totally worth it for the destressing factor! Most gyms will do this if you're nice about it :)
  • They also make an Activia light which is 70cal... and a lot easier on the stomach than the heavier regular. The Dannon Light and Fits are GREAT - only 60 cal for a nice portion size. I put All Bran Buds or a chopped up apple into it....
  • Thanks for the GREAT post! Best of luck with your goals :)
  • My goal was 1,290 when I wanted to lose 1.5/week. I just changed it and my goal intake is 1,490. I work out and burn 500 calories a day on average - at 5am! (When I burn more than that - i.e. 1200 on a long run - I almost always eat them back because I'm so hungry!) Here's my average day's food: 8am - Activia Light yogurt…
  • I bought "Buff Brides" and am doing that (3x week for 30" each) in addition to the weight training for the marathon. It's so frustrating!
  • Wedding - July 11, 2008 My fiance has already lost 10+ lbs on this site - I'm trying to get down 10 by July, but have been stuck at the same number for 3 weeks now. I work out every day - cardio for at least an hour, two hours on the weekends, I'm training for marathon #2, and rarely go above my allotted calories per day.…
  • Veggie Slices - they're about 40cal each, taste like cheese, but are better for you... and make sandwiches a little bit more filling! Weight Watchers Whole Wheat Bread, 2 slices for 90cal as opposed to 1 slice for 100 that's average! I LOVE the Fiber One Bars... All Bran Buds over some yogurt is a delish afternoon snack.…
  • We have a Weight Watchers one that measures weight, body fat weight, body fat %, body water % and bone mass - it's great, but not suggested for pregnant women or anyone with pacemakers. It also gives you a booklet on 'average' numbers - it's interesting to use, but frustrating when you use it too often! It was about $90,…
  • My everday breakfast - keeps me full until lunch. 1 medium apple chopped up into small pieces (70 cal) 1 Activia light yogurt (has anyone tried this? It's wonderful for 'digestive health') (70 cal) 1/2 cup All Bran Buds (only 60 cal) It's a homemade yogurt parfait, at 200cal, and is delish! Try it :)
  • Help! The first two or three weeks I was on MFP... I didn't use my "extra calories" earned from working out, and I lost 4lbs. Now that I'm 'using them' I've put back on 2-3lbs. (Maybe it was because I worked out for 60 minutes yesterday and still went over by 300 calories and 134g of carbs!) I know everyone says you can…
  • As a First Grade teacher, it's almost impossible to turn down all of the birthday cupcakes, but I tell them to leave it on my desk, and into the garbage (frosting-side down!) it goes! It's hard, but I used to be suckered into it, and I just felt so awful afterwards because it triggers the needing sugar!
  • I love All Bran Yogurt Bites Cereal - I usually eat them in yogurt (Activia has a lot of fiber!) All Bran also makes high fiber bars. I just tried FiberOne granola-ish bars (140 cal per bar) and they are great... even have some chocolate on them! Enjoy!

  • Asics 2120.... they're the highest rated running shoes for women. They cured my shin splints (combined with a few runs on the sand/dirt), but have unfortunately been discontinued. You can still find them online. Very true sizing. They got me through training and finishing my first marathon!
  • SW CT here... good luck with everything!
  • Me too! 180 days and counting... best of luck to you!
  • :flowerforyou: My friend, Shelia, and I just joined myfitnesspal today! We've been SHOCKED at how many calories we actually eat on a daily basis, especially with Starbucks. I'm trying to lose 10lbs for my wedding next November, and having run a marathon it's really the food intake I'd like to work on. Being first grade…
