Walking is a great start! I suggest using a heart rate monitor with it, so you can make sure you are in the right zone for calorie & fat burning. Also, if you have knee trouble, join a gym and use the elliptical... totally low impact, and awesome cardio exercise. I started doing 45 mins a day on the elliptical when…

Depends on when I work out, but normally twice a day.

Have it taken out. Mine has been gone for 10 years. With the exception of needing to avoid rich foods first thing, I have no issues not having it.

I'm weird, and have two teams, one in the east, one in the west. The Penguins and The Oilers. If I have to choose one, it's the Oilers.

An interesting thread. I was involved with a woman on my friends list for a few months. I didn't expect it to happen, but we got talking, and then started flirting, and the next thing I knew I was flying to Texas to meet her (I'm in Canada, just outside of Toronto). I went there 3 times over 3 months. Unfortunately it…

What an awesome NSV. I remember having the same thought six months ago, lol.

I can certainly see the resemblance in one area!

I used to be Paul Giamatti. Or at least I used to be told I looked like him - and it was one of the main motivators for losing weight, lol.

There's also that One Pound Fish video that they're trying to make the next Gangham type video. It is a seriously annoying song. I'd post a link, but they don't let us access YouTube here at work.

And I'm on a quest to make my shoulders and back look like yours.

Hello all. I just turned 41, and am in the best shape of my life these days. There's more info in my profile, so I won't re-type it all. :) Nice to be part of a group of similar people.

I thought I had. It lasted about 3 months. The problem with getting to know someone online (and long distance) is that you don't get to see the real person up front. Then after you fall for them, you start seeing things you don't like. I'll be staying away from meeting women on MFP from now on.

I have an addictive personality, and MFP has replaced my food addiction. Luckily I also added an exercise addiction to the mix.

After almost a year of working out daily, it has become habit, so motivation is not required. In the beginning, however, I kept a picture of "fat me" in a frame on my dresser. Every morning that I felt like skipping the gym, I looked at that picture, and immediately grabbed my gym bag and walked out the door. As for at the…

Hi, I'm Kyle, and turned 41 earlier this month. I've had great success with MFP for the last 11 months, and feel better today than I did when I was 25. Feel free to add me as a friend on here.

What a great way to describe it. People think it's impossible to drop that kind of weight (me included a year ago!), but anyone can do it if they set their minds to it. Thanks for posting this. :)

I'm seriously considering paying $50 for NHL Game Center this year (discounted rate for the short season). I live outside of Toronto, but am NOT a Leafs fan. My teams are the Penguins and Oilers, and it is rare for me to be able to see their games on TV. Hockey Night in Canada is always either the Leafs or Habs for the…
