Burlington, Ontario here. Always love making new friends. I workout every day, and always log all my food. I'm very supportive, and like having people on my friends list who are using this site for a lifestyle change, not just a temporary diet. If you fit with that, I'd love to be friends! :)

I turned 41 last week. I hate to admit that I look my age, but I certainly don't feel it!

Welcome fellow Canadian. I'm not far away from you. I discovered this site (initially the mobile app) 11 months ago, and have found it to be the best tool for weight loss. If you're consistent and committed, you will be successful. Good luck!

Burlington, Ontario here!

Haha! Awesome!!

What an amazing change - way to go! Are you sure about your weight in the first picture? That looks like more than 30 lbs lost to me. Again, great work!!
-
Yup... I make sure that my eyebrows get trimmed every time I get a haircut, and also make sure they get the little hairs inside my ears. I trim my chest and pubic hair once a month or so.

I'll miss going for Mex-I-Can and Vietnamese food, and going for coffee. All you other guys can just be jealous of me... she looks way better in person than a picture that's up for 3 seconds. :)

Hahaha. I laughed a lot watching that. Thanks for sharing.

The crazy thing is they they both know we'll all come back when it's settled. We're crazy to let them do this to us again and again, yet we do it. Until that changes, they're in the driver's seat. On the positive, the Toronto Marlies (AHL) home opener sold out, and that didn't happen all last season. It's 15,000 seats with…

Thumbs up to both of these things!!

I've met three local friends, one of whom I see quite often, and am flying to meet someone in less than 3 weeks (and am very excited about it!)

For me, it was the elliptical, and I still use it for part of my workouts on cardio only days, as well as to warm up when lifting weights. A lot of people will tell you to do weights right away, but given the amount of weight you want to lose, I think cardio and burning as many calories as you can is the way to go until…

Could not agree more. Thanks for posting this.

Exactly! If you want it to come off and stay off, make a permanent change to your lifestyle. Log your food, and exercise daily. There's really no secret to it.

I was fat for a lot of years, and LOVED sweet things. When I made my lifestyle change, weight loss was #1 in my mind, so I avoided sweets for the most part, and no one really gave me a hard time about it. I'm at a different stage now... I'm at the point where I can enjoy dessert occasionally, and now people give me a hard…

As long as you are doing a routine with weights 3x a week, you will gain muscle, not lose it. Try to make sure you hit your protein goal every day, even if you don't eat all your calories.

It would bother me if my SO had something like that. When my last ex and I broke up in February, I got rid of everything in my house that involved her, including all the photos on my computer (although I do admit that I backed them up on a CD). The final thing I need to get around to doing is getting a new backing plate on…

Welcome to MFP. I live in Burlington. I've been using MFP for 7 months, and swear by it.
-
Welcome fellow Ontarion! I think I waited about a month before I introduced myself. :) Using MFP will get you results. I had no idea how terrible I was eating before. OK, maybe I did, haha, but tracking it seriously helps with accountability. Good luck in your journey. :)

Here! :)

I believe in a higher being, but not the bible (especially the new testament and Christianity).

This is awesome.

I could see that easily happening. :)

This thread makes me love living in Canada even more than I already did. Yes, we have some areas of cities that have higher crime, but our gun & concealed weapons laws are a lot different, and I doubt many Canadians would be trying to figure out how to run carrying a gun! Maybe you should find a different area to run…

I quit smoking yesterday. So far so good. I know it is not healthy, but that's not why I stopped. I quit because of the money, plain and simple. Here cigarettes are $10 a pack, and I was a pack a day smoker. I can think of better ways to spend $300 a month.
