  • 5 miles on Friday and my last 20 mile run today. 125 miles for the month so far. My taper begins on Tuesday!
  • I'm running the Denver Rock'n'Roll marathon. Well, I am going to try...it will be my first race of any kind.
  • I was at 91miles to start the day and had 8 miles on my training schedule. I just couldn't sit at 99 so I did 9 miles this afternoon to get me to an even 100!!! Tomorrow will be a nice and easy 5 miles before another 20 on Sunday.
  • 7 miles yesterday. 91 for the month so far.
  • 14 yesterday. Luckily, I was able to sneak it in between rain here in 'sunny' CO!! Total is 84miles for the month. I've got 21 more scheduled for the week so I'll hit the 100 mark on Friday!
  • Another 7 miles today brings the total to 70.
  • Good luck on the half this weekend!! 7 for me today. 63 for the month. Another 7 on the schedule for tomorrow.
  • 7 miles this morning. Brings me to 56.
  • I'm in. After my 20 miles yesterday, I am up to 49.2. I am training for a marathon that is 40 days away so I'll be posting crazy miles the next 2-3 weeks. Keep going strong everyone!
  • I just turned 41 and I am 10lbs less than my weight during senior year of HS. Never been healthier.
  • I just wanted to say thanks to the OP for asking the questions and to you all for the great responses. I am running my first marathon - actually my first ever road race - in October. These are some of the questions that are starting to pop in my head. Thanks again!
  • I have 4 labs (and had 2 others that have passed away in the last couple of years), the only thing that works for them is a prong collar. We went to a trainer that specialized in using them. We tried gentle leaders, didn't work on any of them. We tried harnesses - same thing but these were worse as the dogs were much less…
  • There is a big difference between smoothies and juices. Typically blending smoothies keeps the fiber and nutrients. It may even help with absorbtion of nutrients as well. Very few people are actually gluten intolerant. Whole grains are part of a healthy lifestyle. They are very important ingredient for energy especially…
  • Firstly, Great job on the weight loss!! I agree with the others. Carbs are good for you; they provide energy. You are better off switching to healthier, whole grain carbs than significantly limiting them. One other thing, are you sure that the calories you are tracking are accurate. Just looking very quickly, you say that…
  • You could check out the Vega performance protein. I believe it is a 30 day supply. There is more info on vegasport.com
  • I used to get it a lot years ago. I would rest for a few days (2-3) and take ibuprofen.
  • So if this "fact," where is your documentation of this? I would love to see it. There are many people that become vegan/vegetarian that see increases in blood pressure, cholesterol and weight because while they stay away from meat, they don't stay away from unhealthy processed foods. I would love to hear your opinion after…
  • I just finished week 4 of Les Mills Combat (beachbody version). I am doing it with P90x. I really enjoy the workouts. My core is getting ripped and my arms and shoulders are definitely getting more defined. It is lower impact than Insanity for those that have done/are doing that but I still feel as if I am getting a good…
  • The best time to do any workout program (Insanity, P90x, etc) is whenever you think that you will be most successful at sticking with it. If you hate getting up in the morning and force yourself to do it every day you probably won't stick to it. If you know that after work/school, you get tired/unmotivated, you'll probably…
  • If you can, buy a heart rate monitor. It will give you a near-accurate reading for calorie burn; even for Tae Bo type workouts.
  • As challenging as it may be, you need to realize that you HAVE to put yourself first. Your spouse will do fine for the hour or so that you are gone. You are bettering yourself for both of you.
  • Anything with a 4:1 carb to protein ratio. Chocolate milk is a good option so is apple juice & a scoop of protein powder. I use a product called Vega recovery accelerator (you can buy it at Whole Foods.) I'm sure if you went to a GNC or Vitamin World you could find something similar.
  • I recently started having issues iwth my FT7 as well. Cleaning it after every use has seemed to work but it still gives me sporadic issues. I bought a new battery but haven't used it yet.
  • You can create the P90x workouts in "My Exercises." You'll need a HRM to get an estimate of calories burned. Go to Exercise > My Exercises > Create Exercise and then add the specific P90x workout. Once created, it will be available to use in the future.
  • I use my HRM to calculate calories burned and then create the specific P90x workout by going to "exercise > my exercises > create exercise." Keep in mind that if you use an HRM or the p90xcalorie site, it is just a 'ballpark' estimate of calories burned. I'd caution eating all of the calories back.
  • There are a lot of hotels that have agreements with local gyms so you should ask at the front desk. I travel a lot for work (about 3 weeks every month.) I have been able to do P90x and Insanity. You'll need some resistance bands but otherwise you can complete the workouts in your room. Most hotels will have at least some…
  • I thought HRMs for circuit resistance training - like P90x - are relatively accurate? Not doubting you, just what I had heard. I totally agree that my HRM overestimates my calories burned during some of the P90x resistance workouts. I typically don't eat back all of my exercise calories to be safe.
  • To answer your original question, if you do miss some days, that is fine just continue with the program. There is woman on my beach body 'team' that just finished Insanity and it took her something like 11 weeks to complete it as she had a ton of stuff pop up unexpectedly. She just posted results pics and she looked…
  • I do P90x as well and if you have an HRM, you can create the exercises and use them over and over. They aren't saved to the DB but they are saved to your exercises. Select: the Exercise tab > My Exercises > Create Exercise. Name the exercise, I use P90x (Insert Workout) so I know. Hope it helps!
  • Why would she buy a bike computer?
