Entering a set amount of calories burned during exercise?

I find the exercise calories to be a source for inaccuracy and therefor causing problems with weight loss. I get that you need to eat the calories burned, but calculating this reliably is a problem. When I do treadmill, I COULD use the count on the machine, though anything I've ever read says those are incredibly inaccurate. Tae Bo or any other acitivity is anyone's guess. I was wondering if anyone just chooses a set calorie amount ( like 150-200 calories) per workout and just eats that. I'm thinking of trying that.

I have no issue with this, as long as you're going to make an adjustment for time or intensity. If 30 mins of elliptical is 200, then 90 mins should be 600. 30 mins of running should be more than 30 mins of walking.
As always, track your calories eaten, track your scale and make adjustments accordingly0 -
If you can, buy a heart rate monitor. It will give you a near-accurate reading for calorie burn; even for Tae Bo type workouts.0

Can you recommend a good brand/type of monitor? I'd just be guessing.0
