Maybe I'll drop it for a while and see what the effects are.

That's good to hear.

I've had similar questions. If I weigh 350lbs, walk 40 minutes at 3mph am I really burning the 345 calories MFP says? A HRM or Fitbit is a great idea and with Christmas coming maybe I'll treat myself.

Awesome!

I've lost track of how many days I did everything correct as far as eating, logging and exercising and then sabotaged myself by eating huge spoonfuls of Jif peanut butter at 11 pm.

Thanks! These all sound great.

I like a 6" flatbread with double turkey and all the vegetables I can squeeze on. Eat that with baked lays and it's under 600 calories.

Good thread. The database has a lot of odd an incorrect entries. It should be easy to take the numbers directly from the Nutrition Facts label and add them to the entry.

I absolutely agree.

I went to a nutritionist who explained (and I'm paraphrasing) that sugar can kickstart dopamine production in the pleasure centers of the brain and reward persons who consume it. It doesn't hit as hard as a drug like heroin but there's a pleasurable reaction that wanes over time because the receptors become desensitized to…

Showing up naked with pizza is a good start.
-
Is that the flavored variety? I eat the regular (bland) flavor for breakfast and it's only 1g per serving.

Yeah, be careful on the MFP rates for calories burned. I regularly do a recumbent bike for an hour and MFP wants to log it as 800 caolries burned, which is nonsense. I cut that by 75% and give myself credit for 200.

I've been surprised by two things, the first is how little peanut butter is in an actual serving. I used to spread that stuff on bread like it was grout on a tile. The second is how much sodium is in a Green Giant Broccoli Steamer. I usually eat the whole bag because the calories are so low and filling up on vegetables…

Weekends are bad for me because my routine is different. I have to keep myself very busy and preoccupied to stay in the rhythm I follow during the week. In my case, idle hands find the cookie jar.
-
Awesome. That's actually one of goals for this spring / summer.

"This week, each one of you has a homework assignment. You're gonna go out, you're gonna start a fight with a total stranger...(pause, drooling blood)...You're gonna start a fight and you're gonna lose."

I'm glad to see this thread. I overdid it during the holidays and was beating myself up. Reading these responses helped me pause and see that gaining five pounds isn't the end of the world as long as I get back on track. I sometimes fall into that trap of continuing to eat poorly because I fall off the wagon. I just need…

The pasta absorbs water as it cooks. I don't see why that would affect the calorie count. If it's weight you want, just use a food scale to weigh it.

Given how many people need to get fit and lose some weight, I hope this place and the gyms are jammed. Helping each other is a great way to succeed.

Homemade chocolate chip cookies that have been chilled in the fridge.

The worst one I ever heard was; "Eat cabbage soup. The cabbage soup burns more calories in digestion than it contains". It sounds utterly ridiculous and more than one person has told me this which means lots of people believe it. I don't understand how you eat it without gagging.

I'd be upset about Subway's trickery but they're really just doing me a favor.

My favorite is looking up a food and seeing multiple listings and then one says "CORRECT" in bold letters. I usually select that one. I mean, if that person went to all the trouble to make their letters bold, they must be really confident. Also, what's up with listing Subway sandwiches in grams? Is six inch and twelve inch…

About 2000 over. Thanks for starting this thread. I thought I was the only one breaking loose and feeling bad about it.

I can binge like mad. I find I am more controlled during the week than on weekends. To control it I try to keep busy, finding stuff that needs done around the yard or the house, burn some extra calories in case things get bad. Having nothing to do seems to be a trigger for eating too much and too often.

A couple packages of plain instant oatmeal in the morning doesn't hurt.

OP, I love burgers but I make them with ground turkey, use fat free cheese, load them with veggies and eat them on sandwich thins instead of buns. Make sure your snacks include protein, like Greek yogurt, load up on vegetables and stick to your plan. You can do it.
