Remember, the Mirina IUD is small and flexible. According to the European Active Surveillance Study for Intrauterine Devices (EURAS-IUD) the overall rate of uterine perforation is around 1/1000, and the majority of cases are women who have one or more risk factors (prostaglandin use, breastfeeding, and prior general…

Man, this would have been perfect with the groceries I bought last week! Guess I'll just have to buy more baby bellas :).

I'm currently reading "On the Road" by Jack Kerouac and "Notes From Underground" by Fyodor Dostoyevsky.

A parent who's trying to handle a child with autism or ADHD (etc) is one thing, but I see way too many parents outright neglecting their children in public. My kids are well behaved in public, and that's due to years of loving discipline. Sounds like a good policy to me. And yes, you never know a person or family's story,…

Honestly, those things are just a guideline. Go by his hunger and appearance. I have one son who's VERY thin, always has been, and one who's bulkier. Both are a healthy weight. They eat as much as they want to, but if skinny-mini is looking too thin I'll increase the fat content of his meals with peanut butter,…

Wow, talk about a temper tantrum huh? He needs to work on conveying his needs in a calm way. That being said, he's probably going to be unpleasant as long as he feels deprived. You have a few options: 1) Tell him to fend for himself. Just stop cooking for him. 2) Prepare two meals. 3) Find meals that can accommodate both…

Just real quality time. Whatever you enjoy doing together, do it. Make a plan, make it special, make it heartfelt, but there's no reason to spend a lot of money (unless spending a lot of money on her IS your dynamic, haha). Personally, I'd stay a million miles away from the classics (roses, chocolates, teddy bears, etc) as…

The video for that P!nk song is pretty amazing. She's so gorgeous and strong.

I wasn't raised Christian, so I find the whole Santa thing a little strange. It seems counter productive to raising children who trust in the integrity of their parent's theological beliefs. I refuse to lie to my kids about it. Instead, we talk about what a nice story it is, about the message of giving, service, and…

That's because you eat. Presumably.

I wear a two piece tankini thing. I find it more comfortable because I'm tall. If you feel comfortable and confident, do it!

Eat a spoonful of peanut butter. Problem solved.

First, don't feel so bad about throwing small amounts of food out - in fact, I encourage people who feel very guilty about this to try deliberately leaving a bite behind at every meal, just to break this fear. Second, serve kids very small portions. We don't force our kids to eat everything either. I don't think it's…

In my opinion, food MUST satisfy at least one of two goals: it must be nutritious, or really make you happy. Do I always hit that? Heck no. It's hard. But it's something to strive for. If you're going to have something frivolous, make it a high quality, delicious something.
-
Haha, yeah! It's a little ridiculous when something is packaged in a way that makes it difficult/impossible to separate multiple portions!

Bump. This is definitely something I need work on too.

It's not pointless at all! Anything that gets you moving is wonderful. Do it do it. Lifting heavy is a more efficient use of exercise time. For fewer reps you work harder, and thus spend less time in the gym. It also has the fantastic side benefit of making you strong and able, and increasing joint stability and bone…

Know what I like about your pictures? You look DELIGHTED in every single one. You have a beautiful smile! Fantastic job, you should be very proud! :)

Absolutely do try it. I'm >100 lbs overweight, and I've been doing yoga for 4 years. Take it easy, listen to your body, particularly your joints, and have fun. A good instructor can teach beginning yoga with modifications. It's incredible how strong and able yoga can make you feel. From a fabulous blog I recently read…

My husband and MIL really, really hate eggs as well. Don't understand it myself :). Maybe start with some well masked eggy recipes just to get your tastebuds accustomed - french toast, a cheesy quiche, or crepes.

You started by saying you have anxiety issues, and ended with I know it's all my fault. What an anxiety producing loop that is! As a fellow extremely anxious person, I can say on good authority that when you feel that way, it's basically impossible not to do SOMETHING to make the feeling go away. Don't be ashamed. Decide,…

Butter and jam. It's one of the only foods I really have to avoid. Nutella is pretty good too. As for healthier yummy options, nut butters, mashed avocado, baba ghanoush, hummus, cream cheese, banana.

Beautiful! You should be very proud of yourself. Also, fab boots.

There's exactly one squat rack in my gym, and lots of squatters. There's also one guy who stubbornly insists on curling in the squat rack - because of the olympic bar - despite the gym being equipped with a graduated weight curling set. Lines form behind him while he does 8 sets of curling in the squat rack. Squatters need…

You have no idea how glad I am that the title of this wasn't, "Does anyone like to garden?" or "Does anyone homeschool their kids?" Pet peeve. So I already like you! I have a feeling you and I will get along. FR sent! :)

I use avocado. And hey, then you can have green eggs and ham! :)

California roll, with a salad or bowl of miso on the side. Roll in lots of veggies and some crab. Baked falafel patties with yogurt sauce to dip, and a cucumber salad or couscous. Pitas stuffed with smoked salmon or falafel, and lots of veggies. Pasta/bean salad.

My almost chubby 7 year old niece looked at my plate piled with salad a few weeks ago, frowned disapprovingly, and asked, "Aunty Melba, are you sure you need all that?" Yes, yes I do. Nomnomnomnom. No, but it made for a nice opportunity to talk about how healthy and low calorie vegetables are. It was a good moment. Even if…

I usually run at night. Stay in areas you know, bring a light source, don't wear an ipod, and let someone know what route you'll be taking and how long it should take you. I carry pepper spray too, mostly because my neighborhood has a lot of big stray dogs (country life man).

The full fat is super hard to find where I live, and I prefer the taste, so I buy it whenever I see it. Otherwise, usually fat free. This is more of a preference issue, in my opinion. Oh, and milk fat isn't exactly a health food :).
