  • Good point....Lisa, which setting did you use when you set your profile on MFP? You should be in the "very active" level since you get so much cardio. That's why I ignore my exercise, because it's already figured in. Also you can set your calorie intake to manual (or whatever the setting is called) so it doesn't change…
  • Yes, it added the 512 calories you burned working out back in to your goal. I personally don't count those back in, I stick with my baseline goal but MFP automatically adds them in.
  • Your plan looks and sounds good with the exception of the calorie intake. You might do some reading (on here and elsewhere) when you go too low you will actually stop losing weight. 900 is pretty low for anyone. There is a good thread on here about it that has worked for a lot of people....…
  • Oklahoma, home of the SOONERS!!!!!! :)
  • Thanks for all of the advice. I will try running less than 60 seconds and see if that helps. Also I run in 3 different places, but two are all asphalt and one is a mixture of asphalt/chat. I'll also try to find a place that has a softer surface and try that. I already signed up for a 5K run, it's one of my goals for this…
  • Yes, before I started I went to the running store and they fitted me. Had me run on the treadmill and all that to get the correct shoes. I even took the first ones back and got a different brand and it's the same. I'm pretty frustrated with it all, I just want to be able to work up to running a 5K at some point.
  • I'm 48 and just started in Feb. I have progressed pretty quickly as far as walking faster and going further, but I can't break from walking to running at all. I try to slowly work into it, trying to run 1 min then walk...but after about 2 or 3 minutes my shins are hurting so bad I can't stand to run. I've tried…

  • I keep reading these posts about starvation mode......I haven't commented, but I will now. This is only my opinion based on nothing other than my personal experiences...and I'm no doctor or anything so.... :) I think "starvation" is an incorrect description. What I believe is when you cut way down on calories your body…
  • Looking great there. Will be watching for the next update!!!

  • I used to could eat 3 meals a day and be fine, but since I have started eating better I can't do it. I eat 5 meals and snacks a day, just try to keep it healthy. I have been thinking about adding a protein shake to my daily meals too but have not done that yet.

  • Late getting started here, our DVD came in yesterday but we were already committed to our 4 mile walk last night so we will start tonight. I bought it for my wife based on the great results on here, but I told her I would do it with her so we'll see how it goes. Good luck to everyone and looking forward to seeing all the…
  • I'm new here too, but this sounds like a good one to try out. I'm in! 197 X .04 = 7.88
  • I tried these for the first time a couple weeks ago. I must have bought the wrong kind....and fixed them wrong. The ones I bought were refrigerated so I bet they were of the Tofu variety. I just put some "light" tomato sauce and 95% fat free hamburger thinking they would be a spaghetti type food...well...they were like…
