Biggest piece of advice? RELAX! Don't stress about what you're eating/not eating. (And yes, I need to take my own advice here) MFP is a great way to track what you've done (the food search is becoming my best friend) but take small steps. Don't go on a diet with this, change the way you eat with this. Make it a goal to…

oh MFP sooooooooooo needs a like button! I'd be jamming it at this point...

Aw shucks... thanks everybody :) You're right... the crap self perspective does need to go... that's a part of that 'bit more to go' ... got my body going in the right direction now just have to get my mind to catch up :)

Definitely used to be well beyond chubby... now? Well... actually I haven't thought much about where I'd put myself. I suppose cub might fit (oh and no, my profile pic isn't current, that's where I started. Swore I wasn't posting my "current" photo until I hit 150lbs lost)

It's good to know that none of us are alone. The only thing I can say is that I do still have it, but nowhere near what I used to. The first chunk of my weight loss was VERY slow, which helped I do believe (and from what I've reasearched) as a lot of that second belly (as someone else said) is excess skin. When you lose…

Ditto on the curiosity

Maybe this is where my friend got the idea. Honestly I'd never thought about it, but as I'm new to the whole working out thing, I'm pretty wide open to suggestion. So today took a shower right before going for my walk/jog and wowsa did I feel motivated.... so maybe there's something to this after all.

I can't say there was "this thing" that motivated me to lose weight, as there was an entire compilation (which I'll hit in a moment) though, the straw that broke the cows back (as it were) was easily my doctor basically saying lose weight or die. So I figured I'd just send some of me (in the form of weight) to the…

Was thinking this very same thing! Along with the "this isn't the gospel" -- why? Because I've done almost none of what he says here and, well, the ticket tells all...... NOT to say his recommendations cannot work - I'm sure they can, but I just don't want people to think it's guaranteed to work for them. There may be…

Believe me I feel ya there. The one thing you have to remember though is, goals be damned, this is NOT a race. The question I tend to ask more often than not is, how did you FEEL this week? Was everything fairly normal/calm for you? Or were you stressed out, especially more than normal? IF, as is what happens to me a lot,…

Good go - and that's the other plus side to drinking water. More often than not when folks think we are hungry we are actually thirsty. Something I started doing at first was every time I started getting hungry or grabbing for food, I drank a glass of water and gave it 15 minutes first. More often than not, I didn't…

If I might make a recommendation? Water water water! I know it sounds crazy but that's been a vast majority of what has changed me. Yes, you'll pee like crazy at first, but once you're hydrated and the toxins are out it calms down quite a bit. The other thought? And I know this is VERY difficult at first, but believe…

Aw thanks a bunch everybody! Some days it feels like there's SOOOO far still to go, but then I look back and am still a bit stunned it was so much easier than I went into it thinking it would be.

I guess it sounds crazy but I have a suit I bought freshman year of high school - it's an awesome double-breasted grey pinstripe suit... haven't fit in it since sophomore year of high school - I'm allllllllmost back into it. When I can fit in it again I'm wearing it... everywhere... for like a month. LOL
