Yes, I think all us ladies have this to some degree :) I've heard and been told by my gyno, though, that you actually are burning more calories when on your period, so as long as you're not binging, it's probably okay. I have a HUGE sweet tooth, so one thing I try to do is be sure I allow myself to have a small piece of…

Personally, I find all these calculations really confusing, so I use an online calculator that I highly recommend. It does all the calculating for you basically. The link is: http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/ You just put in some basic info, and scroll to the bottom for your BMR, TDEE, and the amount of…

There are several reasons. I won't deny that I want to be able to wear cute clothes and look good naked; I think that's most people, on at least some level. Beyond that, though, I tend to be abit high-strung, if I'm honest, so exercise in particular helps me to be abit more calm and focused. Also, I have always had a hard…

I'm really glad you posted this. I have just a standard blender (I think it's Oster) now, and it does fine with most things, but as you said, anything that's really hardy it has a hard time with. Ultimately, I'd like to get a Blendtec, but until I can afford one I've been looking at going with the NutriBullet. I have the…

I saw this and did the quiz as well, which (assuming I buy into it) would make me a Type B. The problem is, I've eaten like that before, and it wasn't enough protein or fat for me to feel good and have enough energy. I want to think this is a good idea, but I do have some hesitations, both with the A plan (he said the dark…

I think everyone feels that way, at least from time to time. I've gone through phases with it myself, where I write down literally everything I eat, and where I slack and only write one or two days a week. It is annoying to keep up with, but while I'm losing weight, at least, I can say that it absolutely makes a difference…

Thanks all! Well, as of yet, I've not added it in. Very much off my schedule this last week; I've completely dropped the ball on my workouts for the most part. But I'm getting back at it; going hiking with a friend on Friday.

Thanks all! I think what I'm going to do it try to do HIIT 2x/wk and steady cardio 1x/wk for two weeks as a kindof test, and see how it goes and if I feel like I'm getting anything out of it. Continue lifting and yoga a couple of times a week. I'll report back and let everyone know my experience with it. Have a good…

Thanks everyone! And thanks to konswela for the link; I'll check it out :)

Hey! Way to go with the 12lb weight loss!!! I've been on MFP since around March or April I think. I did what most everyone does (and what it sounds like you did) and tried to do the calories suggested by MFP (around 1400), which is just insane and unsustainable. Which is when I found the EM2WL boards, and I feel pretty…

Yeah, I think I have to find a way to up my calories. It's so funny, when I don't try I can, but for some reason, when I'm trying to up my calories I don't seem to be able to. Since I posted this I've been trying to get to the 1977, but I seem to only be able to get to 1800-1850. I think as you said, throwing in snacks is…

Thanks Noor and Heidi! My goal is to be sure I'm getting at least my 1977 calories for this next week, and if that doesn't work, I'll do a diet break for at least a week. Heidi = It's good to hear that it's not just me LOL I was like "what the hell is going on?!?!" I'll definitely keep at it and hope for another drop soon.…

Thanks Rebekah! I've looked into P90X, and I'd LOVE to try it out. It will have to wait a few weeks though. I'm also alittle concerned as I have knee problems, and it looks like it could be abit rough on the ol' joints :) But I'm still weighing it. I'm doing as much strength training as I can at home for the moment, and…

Thanks!

honeslty, it doesn't sound like you need to lose weight per se, but rather toning. When you do your workouts, from what you're saying anyway, it sounds like you do alot of cardio and very little strength training (with that said, I'm not 100% on the Shred). I'd say maybe keep the same or slightly reduce your cardio and sub…

Hey! Just looking over your diary. A couple of things I would mention COULD be the cause: 1) It looks like your dinner is more calories than you have the entire rest of the day. I know you don't get alot of calories to work with due to being a smaller person, but I'd say switch it up to making your biggest meal of the day…

Man, I am SO glad I found this thread!!! MFP calculations say I should only be eating about 1430 calories a day, and that's based on 3 45min workouts a week. I've been trying to hard, but no matter what I do, I can't seem to make that happen, even if I still feel hungry. Really discouraging. Now after calculating my TDEE,…

Well, I've been working to get alot of the processed food out of my diet as much as possible, for roughly the past 6 months. I eat alot of fresh fruit and veg now, as well as nuts and other proteins. I've really started watching the gluten-filled carbs this past week, as I'm trying to see if I've developed some kind of…

Love it. Amazing results. I've just really gotten started (this time around anyway, hopefully the last). I'm eating alot healthier and not having cravings NEARLY like I was, but I've noticed I tend to go over my calorie limit on the days I exercise (not including the calories I get back from exercising mind you). I had…

Personally, I love Zumba. There are classes I can take around town, but I usually do it at home with the DVD set because I'm a business owner and thus have a crazy schedule. There are about 5 discs total, including a Basic/How To program. I highly recommend doing this for the first 3-4 times at least, just to be familiar…
