  • I am similar too! I am 27 years old, 5'4 currently 146 and hoping to get to 125 or so. Either of you lovely ladies feel free to add/ message me!
  • Love your write up! Such an inspiration. Crazy the progress you have made from Sept to Oct! Congrats on all your hard work, it sure paid off!
  • I agree with above post, quitting smoking is a HUGE accomplishment. Quitting smoking and not gaining weight is a miracle. You should be stoked!! Keep up the good work, and it will come off. It is frustrating how long it takes, that's why so many people fail. YOU can do it! You've got this in the bag. If you can quit…
  • 4 months?? Holy moly! You look amazing!! Congrats!
  • You look gorgeous! Such an inspiration!! Amazing :)
  • I am in for some extra motivation! Feel free to add me:) Wishful goal is 17 lbs Realistic goal is 10lbs
  • I find protein to be the most filling. So almonds, pistachios, or I will have 3-4 pieces of turkey bacon. Fills me up and I do not feel like I am depriving myself. Also starting with a glass of water and finishing cause often when I am hungry I am just dehydrated... oi!
  • I totally feel you. I get asked if I am preggers on the regular. It is like no one has ever heard that Brian Reagan skit where you NEVER EVER ask a woman that. I notice if I go low carb I tend to lose more in my lbs. Low carb haters are gonna hate, but that has worked for me. Incorporating strength training, lots of cardio…
  • I really like body pump! I feel like it tones me. Before body pump I did not know what a dead lift was or a clean and press. I think it is really good for beginner strength training as you can ask the instructor questions about form and how much weight to use. I think as your fitness level progresses you may want to hit…
  • I'd love to do a challenge!! Count me in!
  • You look amazing! Such an inspiration! Keep up the good work :)
  • Love this! I am 27, work full-time. I have always found exercising easy but struggle with making good food choices as I love carbs, cheese and red wine. I and am having a hard time losing some Lbs which was never a prob when I was in HS and college.... Would love some support and friends on here! Feel free to add me!
  • It is really unfortunate that your mother cannot be more supportive and in fact is being quite emotionally abusive towards you. I agree with what others have said that she is making these comments more or less as a reflection to how she is feeling about herself and not about you and most likely has to do with her mental…
  • I agree! I make better eating choices when I work out first thing in the AM. I also like the fact that it gets my metabolism going.
  • Good friends, my dog, exercise and Vitamin D. Depending on where you live, you are prob slightly suffering from SAD because the sun just is not out enough to give us the amount of vitamin D we need. Talk to your doctor about the right amount of vitamin D to take, I used to be a therapist and I had multiple clients who used…
  • I did that for my first half marathon. I was trying to drop lbs and wanted to increase mileage. I had some pretty miserable runs. It is hard to get up and run when you do not have the energy. Did not get a great time. Was happy to cross the finish line. My second and third half marathon I ate a well balanced diet and…
  • Good for you for getting into running! I have been running for years now and what I have noticed is how hungry long runs make me. What has worked for me is having a shake with kale, fruits, chia seeds, whey protein and yogurt as a pre and post work out meal/ snack. You need calories to run and you need calories/ protein to…
  • You look awesome! Great motivation! I am also a cardio queen always running or on the elliptical and just recently have started lifting and really like it! I feel guilty when I lift and don't do cardio as if i am not going to get what I am looking for and here you are living proof. Thanks for sharing!
  • I'll try this! I need motivation to get running now that it is cold and dark all the time. 50 miles in November (running).
  • I have tried both and I think atkins is really good for fast, short term weight loss. With atkins I lost 5 lbs in the first week which is encouraging. South beach was not as dramatic, but south beach is much more sustainable. I think if your goal is for a lifestyle look more into south beach, if your goal is to lose lbs…
  • I feel you! I have struggled with this too, but I rather work out at 5:30 AM than at 6:30 PM. I just have a better work out and a better day. Sure there have been mornings where I get a bad night's sleep and will opt out of the early AM work out but if that happens I make myself go to the gym, a run or whatever after work.…
  • Thank you! That made my life a lot easier than trying to list it out. I just want a ball park figure anyways. And I am pretty certain that body pump is strength training as you lift weights the whole time- besides the breaks.
  • Lots of great advice here! I think cutting out/ cutting down carbs is the best way to go for "quick" weight loss. Look into atkins' induction phase. The weight just falls off. Work out in the AM to get your metabolism going early. You are also less likely to binge/ eat a craving item if you have already worked out.…
  • I wore red to a wedding having no idea it was a taboo thing. I later asked the bride if she was offended by my red dress and she said no. I think that is an outdated rule. The thought is it is the bride's day and you do not want to outshine the bride. That dress is gorgeous and looks fabulous but I do not think you will be…
